Mackenzie's POV

"I can't believe you cheated on me!" I cried as I looked into my current boyfriend Tyler's eyes.

"Well I can't help it! I'm a guy and she was there" was his reply. This caused anger to boil up inside me.

"Thats your excuse? She's my cousin for crying out loud! I hope you rot in He-" I didn't finish because his hand connected to my face.

Did he just slap me?

I opened my mouth to say something about this but his hand clasped over it. "Shut up and let me talk" he said. " You weren't supposed to find out anyway, she was about to leave to go back to America, and you wouldn't even have the slightest clue!"

I have never seen him like this. Angry. I thought I had finally found a guy who would treat me right, but what I really found was another heartbreak. Tears began to well up in my eyes again and his began to roll. "Please for the love of God don't cry again!"

"Well what do you expect me to do? My boyfriend just cheated on me with my cousin, and now he's saying its okay!"

"Because it is okay" he replied. This caused my anger level to rise again.

"No it isn't" I sobbed "And you need to understand this, I- I don't think we should go out anymore." I stuttered as I began to find the floor interesting all of a sudden.

"No." He simply said grabbing my wrists.  "You need to understand this. We are gonna be together weather you like it or not...you got it?" When I didn't answer him he became angrier, so he grasped my wrists tighter as he pushed me up against the wall. " Now do you get it"

"No" I said as the tears kept falling. "We are through" I said in between sobs. This earned another slap. I have never been slapped ever...in my life! He was about to yell at me again when my door bursted open.

"What's going on here?" the voice from the door said. Ashton! Tyler turned around giving me enough space to slide out. Hey I'm short!

"Nothing" Tyler said "Now can you leave us alone?" Ashton smirked.

"No can do, I was walking up the stairs when I heard her say you guys were over, so if anyone is going to leave I'm afraid its going to be you."

Tyler looked shocked but finally agreed to leave. "Fine" he said glaring at Ashton. "Bye Mack... I love you." He said turning to me.

I just rolled my eyes.  

As soon as my door closed I ran to the window to make sure Tyler left. When I saw his car pull out of the driveway I tackled Ashton in a hug. He didn't expect this so he lost his balance and fell back on the bed.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, I love you!" I said kissing his cheek in between each word. I rolled of him laying by his side on the bed.

"Um you're welcome..." he said awkwardly his cheeks tinted a light pink.

It’s been three days since the 'incident' with Tyler and luckily he hasn’t came around me. He has texted me a few times though, but I just ignored them. I haven’t told anyone what happened between us not even my best friend Sydney, and Ashton only knows what he saw.

“Hey, babe” Sydney said as she slammed my locker shut breaking me from my thoughts.

“Hey, hun” I replied forcing a smile on my face.

“Okay, who do I have to kill?” Was her reply. See this is why I love her.

“No one” I said lying through my teeth as I reopened my locker, which was quickly shut afterwards.

“Dude!” I exclaimed “Like what the actual hell?”

“I know you’re lying your little butt off, so just tell me!” She said smirking.

“Fine” I said giving up as I told her everything that happened. After I was finished telling her she was speechless which honestly scared me because she is never speechless. “Hello? Earth to Sydney.” I said as I waved my hand in front of her face.

“I’ll kill him!!” She said gritting her teeth and squeezing her fists.

“Hey guys!” Ashton chirped as he and his ‘band members’ walked over to us. Sydney still looked pissed so I gave her a look signaling her to calm down. She quickly got the memo as she put a smile on her face and turned toward Ashton.

“Hi Ashton!....Others...” she said looking behind Ashton at his other friends. Yeah, one thing about Sydney is sometimes she can be a witch...with a ‘B’. If you’re picking up what I’m putting down.

Each of Ashton’s friends patted his shoulder before walking off, dang they were pretty cute! “Are you done checking out my friends?" Ashton said. I just laughed even though I’m pretty sure I could hear seriousness in his tone. He’s just being protective, right?

“So, what were you two lovely ladies talking about?”

“How I’m going to kick Kenzie’s ex boyfriend’s butt!” Sydney said a little too excited.

“Really?!?!” Ashton replied intrigued. “Me too” They high fived each other earning an eye roll from me as I linked my arms through theirs before skipping down the hallway to my next class.
