now that both mayfields had learned what hawkins really held, it was up to lucas to prove he wasn't a liar, maybe even earn max's trust, before he could do any more convincing. sam was, as usual, extremely frustrated with billy and the fact that she was, once again, stuck at home with him 'watching' them. but, more powerful than her frustration, was her need to help max fix her snapped skateboard.

max had been trying to fix it all by herself, but, still, it just wasn't working, understandably upset and confused about everything she learned. "i need some help" max said, "figured you might want some after a while."

"sam?" max questioned.

sam grabbed the duck tape on max's dresser, ignoring her question. "it makes about as much sense as it did last night."

sam was still confused as to how max's skateboard snapped. "i was thinking-"

"let's just not talk about it" sam ordered. "hand me that piece, please."

billy, meanwhile took this as an opportunity to turn the living room into an at-home gym. the girls intended to sit in the living room and watch t.v later. so much for that plan. there, in a mere matter of seconds, they could hear the doorbell being rang persistently.

max closed her eyes, practically squeezing them shut, releasing a sigh as she handed the other piece of her skateboard off. "max! are you going to get that or what?" billy yelled, sam looking to
the bedroom door.

"okay!" she yelled back, huffing at his yelling.

sam finished taping the skateboard while she waited on max. what the hell is taking her so long? sam thought.

"what are you doing here?" max whispered at lucas. "i have proof." lucas told her. "what?" max asked, brows furrowed. "proof that what i told you and your sister was real. but we have to hurry." lucas explained.

"what kind of proof?" max questioned.

sam had now become curious and walked out into the hallway, going to the front door. she tried sneaking past billy without being noticed, but she didn't succeed.

"where are you going?" billy asked.

"just headed to...get the mail." sam answered. billy stood up walking towards the girl as she backed up, slowly inching closer to the door. max walking in on perfect timing.

"who the hell were you talking to?" billy asked.

"mormons." max lied.

"mormons?" billy questioned.

"talkative ones." max continued, slowly grabbing sam's hand. as billy moved out of the way, max dragged sam back into her room quickly.

"do you still have your bike?" max asked as she shut her door.

"uh..yeah..i think why?" sam responded.

"lucas had proof. we've gotta go, and fast." max stated pulling her window up.

"come on, hop on. hurry." lucas said to max, as sam grabbed her bike quickly trying to catch up with lucas.
