It's been two weeks since the break-in at Millie's. Evidence came back that it was in fact Brodie who broke into her apartment. Leaning down, I kiss her gently. "Take another shower if you want, then meet me downstairs."

After cleaning myself up at a speed I didn't even know I was capable of, I went downstairs to let my mom in the house.

"Hey Ma, what brings you by?"

"I'd figured I'd come see you, since you haven't been able to come home."

"I haven't forgotten about you, things have been a bit hectic and I know that's a shitty excuse."

Guiding her to the kitchen I offer her a drink in which she declines. We both turn to the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs.

Stepping up to Millie I wrap my arm around her waist.

"Ma, this is my girlfriend Millie."

With a smile on her face she walks up to Millie, "I can see why my son is smitten with you. You are a beautiful young lady."

Millie blushes at the attention and embraces my mom in the hug she was offered.

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Calder."

"Oh, I don't want any of that. Please call me Stella or mom." she laughs.

Guiding them to the living room I sit down on the sofa pulling Millie right down on my lap.

"I'm so glad I finally get to meet you Millie, I've heard so much about you. You have no idea how happy it makes me knowing my son has found someone to love him as much as he loves you."

Millie gasps, but not loud enough for my mom to notice. She doesn't respond to my moms comment, she just blushes and smiles. I go about ordering some food from my phone while they chat and get to know one another.

After dinner we walk my mom to the door. She embraces Millie in a tight motherly hug and tells her she can't wait to see her again. Millie excuses herself so I can see my mother off.

"Be careful driving home, I'm glad you came to visit."

"My boy, I'm glad I came too. I already love her. You did good, I hate your dad isn't here to see the man you've become, but just know he would be proud."

I lean down and hug her good-bye, with a promise to visit soon, with Millie. Heading to the kitchen in search of my woman, I find her sitting at the island eating the leftover dessert.

"Babe, I really love your mom. She's really sweet. I think she and my mom would get along great, don't you?"

Closing the distance I stand between her legs, "yeah, sweetheart, they would. She loves you too."

"She was right, you know."

Millie looks at me with confusion on her face.

"I love you Millie. I have for a while now, I just didn't want to scare you off because maybe it's too soon, hell I don't know. I just know that I do love you."

Throwing her arms around my neck she kisses my lips.

"I love you too, so damn much."

I take her mouth and kiss her like it's my last breath.

"Take me to bed."

And I do.
