Chapter 14 - A Day With Void!

When Mihi and I got back to our house, Void greeted us at the door. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Mihi and their mum are living with my mum and I until the police finish inspecting their house.

"Hey Void! You're such a pretty kitty!" Said Mihi, they had picked up the kitten and were now petting her. Void purred, and I started to join in with petting the kitty. Void's fur is so soft! I didn't want to stop petting Void, but Mihi put the kitty down, so I kinda had to.

"Kids! Come inside, we have a surprise guest!" Called Mrs. Yoshitoga, we ran inside, and I saw Carla Banks sitting at our dining table!

"Uh, are you sure that those things are your children? They don't look anything like you guys!" Carla complained, I heard Mihi scoff.

"Carla, you dyed your hair brunette. You're a natural ginger, none of your parents had ginger hair." I muttered, I saw my mum scowl at Carla, and I then saw Mrs. Yoshitoga had muttered something to my mum.

"Dear, uh, Carla, I think it's time you got out of my home. You're actually not welcome here." My mum demanded, I've never, and I mean never, seen my mum that mad.

"Ugh, fine. But just so you know, I also have a, um, special gift. I can take energy from people or other living things. I found this out when I met Sarah for the first time. I accidentally drained a little bit of her energy, I think I was extremely tired or something. I just wanted you guys to know that I'm in the same kind of situation as your kids and their friends. But I'll be leaving now, if you really do insist." Carla admitted, I didn't believe her for a second, but then I realized that when I first met Carla, I was really energized, but right when she spoke to me, I felt really tired. I saw Mihi looking at Carla, they looked completely unfazed.

"I believe you by the way. I also have, uhm, gifts. I can make things float, and I can tell if people are lying to me or anyone else." Mihi murmured, they looked at their necklace, it was lying on the kitchen counter, and it started floating towards Mihi. The necklace had a strange blue-ish glow around it, and I realized that Mihi's left eye was slightly glowing blue as well. When the mystery of our gifts will be solved, no one knows. With that, I bid you goodnight! I'm tired, but I won't be able to sleep. Sleep... taking... over....
