*Mihi POV*

"Mum, when is Vanessa going to get here? I'm tired..." I trailed off when I saw mum cooking dinner. I sighed, of course she isn't going to wait for my sister to get here, she's always disliked Vanessa after all. I remember a time before dad left, yes, my biological father figure had left with my only siblings to move to Paris in France. He had left me behind, calling me a cursed child. I knew why he called me that, mum had died on my birthday, February the thirteenth.

"Mum! I see the moving truck! It's Vanessa!" I exclaimed. Mum immediately paused making dinner, and she ran outside. I followed, but I just walked outside. It was hard to not run, but I didn't want to get run over today! The moving truck's passenger seat opened, and Vanessa hopped out! Void, my kitty, came outside and I picked her up.

"Hey stepmum. Hey Mihi! Who's this little cutie?" Vanessa asked. She had to crouch, and she was still taller than me!

"Vanessa! I missed you! This is my kitty, her name is Void. I 'adopted' her when I found her at the Halloween festival. She was sitting against a wall, and everyone said she was a stray, so I took her home with me!" I explained. Void sniffed Vanessa's hand, and she licked my sister's hand.

"Aw, it feels like damp sand paper," Vanessa said smiling. I led her to her room, and she smiled sadly. This was her old room, and it was obvious that she had missed it so much.

"Thank you for taking me to my room Mihi, don't tell the twins, but you've always been my favorite sibling," She said happily. I smiled big, and I walked to my room. I looked at my bed, there, sitting on the blankets, was a gift from Michael. It's a marionette mask (Puppet/music box animatronic). Marionette is my favorite animatronic, and Michael had given me the mask during our sleepover at his house.

I heard Vanessa bring the last of her stuff in, and I heard a thump. I then heard Vanessa curse under her breath, and I decided to go see what's wrong. I ran to my sister's room, and I saw her holding a picture. Then, I saw her right eye.

"Vanessa? Your eye, it's gone blind, did our stepmum do this when dad got a divorce?" I whimpered out. She looked at me, and her eyes were filled with sadness.

"Our stepmum wasn't happy about the divorce. She decided to blame me, I was the one sibling who could've been dad's reason for leaving. Before the divorce, I had caught our stepmum cheating on dad with your, thankfully arrested, stepdad. I ran to dad and told him what I had seen. He confronted our stepmum about it, and after the fight, she broke a glass bottle over my right eye, you're lucky she didn't do the same to you," She explained. I started to cry, Vanessa hugged me, and I sobbed into the hug. I had just found out that my so-called 'sweet as sugar' stepmum was the reason for my sister's blind eye! I just can't believe my now 'sweet as salt water' stepmum did this. I'm never going to trust a word that woman says again.
