Warning; Gore go wow

The cold sept into the girl's body as she laid on the table of the library, her head buried inside an opened book, drooling slightly on the now-damp paper. This book was a different genre from that which she usually read; It was about a fantasy world, a medieval one at that.

Alas, even though the girl had enjoyed reading the book, her sleep deprived body grappled for her consciousness, resulting in her current unguarded appearance. To be more accurate, she was not completely unguarded; Y/n sat opposite her quietly reading a book whilst taking short peaks at the sleeping ball of orange hair.

About half an hour passed before Chloe started to wake up. Her current sleeping position was certainly not very comfortable, causing the small girl to rub her neck whilst surveying her surroundings, finding the usual sight of Y/n absorbing another murder mystery book. He'd always liked to read the more, thought provoking genres, as if he were the one in the book fighting to clear up the mystery before he was done in.

Looking back down towards the book she was reading, Chloe noticed the small, dried patch of saliva, hurriedly pressing her cardigan on the page in a futile attempt to rid the book of the ensuing semi-permanent stain.

Suddenly, a bright orange flame erupted from in front of the girl, causing her to recoil in her chair. Chloe quickly look up towards the source of the flame, eyes widening in horror as she stared at the figure in front of her; blackened skin and devoid of hair, a plethora of cuts etched into the teen's body, seared shut by the roaring flame.

Red orbs screamt out towards the now grown-up girl, patch upon her vacant left eye and large scars drawn onto her face. Crimson liquid leaked from his eyes as he lifted his now black finger towards the small teen.

Lips moved, but no voice was emitted. Although words were unspoken, it was clear what he was trying to convey. Face scrunched up into a angry expression, lips dancing roughly to and fro as Y/n seemingly screamed at the girl, blaming Chloe for the state he now found himself in, this miserable, painful existence.

Chloe stared at the boy, tears seeping from her remaining eye as she reached out to Y/n, desperately wanting to grasp him, attempt to help him, or anything to release him from the suffering he was enduring.

Suddenly, Y/n disappeared. As if he'd wasn't ever there. The bright brown coloured wooden table was now burnt black as the leather book cover of the murder mystery Y/n had been reading was scorched, pages turned to ash.

"Y/n?" Trembled the girl, hand still reached out towards the empty seat.

Then all was black. Surroundings disappearing into to nothingness the girl frantically span around, attempting to locate Y/n. It felt as if she were in a free fall, her visual senses deprived. Bundling up into a ball, Chloe wept into her disfigured hands, accumulated wounds a testament to her determination to save Y/n.

Vision came back to the girl, prompting her to open her eyes once again. She found herself falling rapidly through the sky as she dived towards the city below, clouds beside her as she quickly reached terminal velocity.

The teen shrieked in fear as she became closer to the ground, never having gotten over her fear of heights which she had been shackled to by her experience as a child.

What seemed to be a fraction of a second had passed before a familiar building came into view; an old, worn, school building. A distinct red blotch caught Chloe's eye, but before she could react her arms, which had been covering her head as she plummeted from the skies, contacted the cold concrete below.

A sickening crunch erupted from the surrounding as crimson splattered onto the concrete and windows nearby.

"Eurg.. euuh.... " Her attempt at screeching out for help was left unfounded, only agonising screeches left her oesophagus.
