Lost

It's been 2 days since the accident. Zee is now transferred out of the ICU to a better room. They chose the VIP suite to accomodate all of them in a more comfortable manner.
It also has been two days since Nunew ever came home. The hospital room is now his bedroom and office too. He refused to go home no matter how much they convince him. He doesnt want to leave Zee's side. He asked Nat to bring his things for him. Like clothes, toiletries, sketch pad, chargers, pillow and blankets. Since they are in a VIP room, there is a small sofa bed next to the patient's that Nunew uses now as his own bed.
He works from the hospital too and only leave if there are any meetings that he needs to go.
The rest of them always stop by the hospital after work or stay there if they dont have anything to do.

Malee came in that afternoon looking tired. It must be a long day for her. Nunew noticed it.

"Ma, are you okay? Do you want to lie down?" Nunew offered

"No son, im okay. Im just tired" She softly smiled
"Zee has been investigating stuff for a while. And i think it might be getting worse as the numbers really dont add up. Plus we have this new shopping mall in Pattaya that we have to deal with" Malee told him
"That's why you need to wake up now Zee. You need to help your mama, she cant do this alone anymore" Malee talked to Zee as she holds his hand

Nunew looked at them with sad eyes. And then he got an idea.

"Ma, why dont I take over some bits? The only reason im this busy is because I insist on doing things on my own. But if I deligate most of the things im dealing with my team, I would be free most of the time. Why dont I take over some of Hia's work? You can focus on the more important and urgent ones and I can do the rest." Nunew told him

"Good idea, but the fashion week is in 4 months. Would you really be okay? I dont want you to over work or disrupt your own work" Malee told him

"No Ma,.seriously i can do it. Just make an announcement that im stepping in temporarily. I can start tomorrow. I will ask Foie to deliver all papers and work that Hia is investivating here. I'll go there for important meetings, the rest i will do remotely and through video calls" Nunew smiled at him

Malee went to sit beside Nunew and touched his cheek
"You dont have to do this dear. You dont have to beat yourself up like this. I know you are feeling guilty but this is never your fault."

Nunew took Malee's hand and held it
"Ma, i really want to help you. I dont want you to get sick too. I can do it, really. And this is the smallest thing i can do for Hia". Malee could only nod as she agreed to let Nunew take over.

That evening as Nunew lied down on his bed, he looked at Zee.

"I will do well Hia. I will not let you down again" Nunew said as he closed his eyes.

Two weeks since the accident and Zee is still sleeping. Nunew kind of moved into the hospital already. He is already familiar with the staff and other nurses that he normally brings them food if ever he needs to attend meetings.
Nunew managed to find out the problem that Zee had in the company. They had a money launderer. The employee had taken monet out of projects and hid it so good that it took a while for him to trace it. They prosecuted him and handed him to the authorities. That's one problem done.

A bigger problem arised though, the board of directors are making a fuss about Zee and wants him out stating that he is not fit for the position due his health. Although they cant do anything about it as Zee and Malee holds 80% of the shares, the directors still want to create noise. Malee decided not to action it as they cant do anything anyway but Nunew is getting irritated. So he decided to speak up during a board meeting.

"With all due respect, i dont think any of you is better when we talk about health. If we take it like that, then you should all step down from your positions" Nunew said. He then started to point at them one by one.

"You had a stroke last year, you are insulin diabetic, you have severe parkinsons, you had cancer two years ago and you had renal transplant.
Hia is a young man without any medical problems and this is the first time he had ever taken a sick leave. How dare you try to oust him just after two weeks. If unfit health is your basis, would you like to offer your resignation too?! As it seems like you will go down under the grave first before he does"
Nunew eyed all of them. One angry man stood up

"Who do you think you are to say those? You are just a temporary. You dont have any power over this" he said. Nunew just smirked. Now he knows who is the instigator of all of this.
Got you he thinks in his head

"Oh yes he does" Malee said as she eyes him. She doesnt like how these people suddenly undermine her child

"Im not sure what rock you are under but if you didnt recognize i will gladly introduce him to you. you are talking to Nunew Chawarin Perdpiriyawong, the youngest Heir of Perdpiriyawong family and a treasure to us Panich family. If you dont know yet, his words has as much bearing to us as to his family. That's the reason why he is the temporary VP. Whoever challenges him, challenges two families" Malee glared at them.

They look like fish with mouths open. They all shut up after that.

3 weeks in and Nunew is in a meeting for the plans for Pattaya Mall. He suddenly got a call, he looked who it is and it's Malee.

"Nu, come here, quick. Zee is awake"

And with that, he grabbes his coat and instructed Foie

"Phu, take over. I got to go to Hia. Send me everything and I will look over. I will take my bike." Nunew said as he ran towards the elevator.

Nunew drove fast. He doesnt care if he gets a ticket for overspeeding or beating red lights. He's in a hurry. He needs to be there now.
He was in the hospital in record time. He looked a mess his crumpled suit but he doesnt care. He immediately entered the room and saw the doctor examining Zee who is now sitting up.
Zee saw him. Nunew smiled but Zee looked away.

"Do you remember what happened?" The doctor asked

"I was driving in a track and lost control and crashed"

"Can you tell me the names of the people here today?"

"Mama Malee, Mama Pornthip, James, Max, Nat, Net" Zee said skipping Nunew.

"What about him?" The doctor pointed at Nunew whose heart beat is so loud he thinks its going to explode out if his chest

"Nong Nunew" Zee said.

Nong, he called me Nong Nunew. Nunew thought. He silently walked out as the doctor do more tests. James saw him so he walked out too.

James saw Nunew sitting outside with his head facing the ceiling. He sat beside him and Nunew looked at him.

"He called me Nong Phi. He never calls me Nong. He would only do that if he is really angry. I knew it, this is all my fault" Nunew said as he cried

"Dont jump into conclusions yet. Maybe he has his reasons" James said as he rubs his back.

"Whatever it is, im afraid i might have lost him already" Nunew softly said.
