Zee and Nunew gave the nurse who is doing her evening rounds the shock of her life when she saw the two looking at her when she came in. The other nurses called the doctor who immediately came and checked them. When he was satisfied that they are okay, he gave them the green signal to sit up. He also told the nurses check the bladder training so they can have the catheters removed. For now they are not allowed to get out of bed.
The nurses fussed over them. They couldnt believe that they woke up the same time.
"You boys sure are a miracle" Monica says as she came in
"Phi!" Nunew greeted her
"Dont phi me mister. I said it would be nice to see you again but not in that state" Monica says as he patted zee and Nunew
"Are you boys hungry? Your family keeps on refilling the fridge in case this happens" Monica asked them. Nunew's stomach then started to growl
"Right, lets heat up some porridge for you guys" She says as she steps out of the room
"She's still amazing" Zee smiled an Nu
"I know! Cant believe she's close to retirement though" Nunew said
"We should give her a big gift" Zee tells him
"Yeah, but it would be unfair to others. They have been working really hard too. So we should gift all of them as well" Nunew squeezes Zee's hand. They havent let go of each other since they woke up
Soon enough the nurses came in smiling at the two. They were carrying bowls of porridge, glasses of water and a small box if macarons for Nunew and a small bix of white chocolate covered almonds for Zee. They also brought some medications for them
"Wait there's macarons?!" Nunew excitedly said
"You brothers have been buying them everyday. If you are not up yet, they tell us to eat them and they buy a new one to keep it fresh. Let me tell you, we were waiting for a long time. We all gained weight because if you" Lucy, the nurse, says to him as her and Jan place the trays in front of them
"How long were we asleep?" Zee asked
Jan thought about it a bit
"You were 2 and a half weeks in ICU. You have respirators for the most part of those weeks. They transferred you to us when you guys were finally able to breathe in your own. And its been a week since you arrived here. So you're here in the hospital for almost a month now." Jan said to them
"Okay, enjoy your meals. Dont forget to take your meds after eating. If you need us, use the buzzer. Alright?" Lucy said to them before she left
Nunew looked at Zee
"Hia, i have an odd question" Nunew said as Zee looks at him expectantly
"Did we had the same dream?" Nunew asked.
Zee smiled at him
"It was nice to see our papa right?" Zee tells him
Nunew smiled widely and hugged Zee.
"Oh careful Nu, you have hot porridge infront if you" Zee said as he catches nunew
"So you remember everything? Even the string?" Nunew asked again
"Especially the string" Zee nodded. He then held Nunew's hand and kissed it.
"Good" Nunew smiled at him widely. He then started stirring his porridge
"Careful of the porridge. It's really hot" Zee reminded him.
They finished their meal and the nurses cleared their side table
"Do you want to cuddle up like what you two are used to doing?" Monica asked them
