Today was supposed to be a fun night of Halloween shenanigans and trick or treating. But instead, Fury sent us out on a mission that I never agreed to. Location: the cemetery.
"Worst... night... ever. And I had my costume all picked out." I grumbled under my breath.
"Oh yeah? What were you gonna be? A sexy bunny or cute kitty for your sweet ol' Danny?~" Nova teased me as he flew down beside me.
I just glared at him and pushed him aside as I wasn't up for his jokes tonight. "No. I was gonna be a vocaloid character." I stated.
Nova just looked at me confused and I rolled my eyes. "A what?" He asked.
"Forget it..." I sighed as we continued to look around the dark and creepy cemetery.
I forgot what or who we were looking for but Fury said something about a delivery? I think... I don't remember. I was too angry at the fact we had a late night mission in the middle of the cemetery.
"Heh, I'd feel bad for anyone who'd want to dress up as Nova. Just imagine. One day, you're all sound asleep in your bed. Until the next morning, you wake up looking like this!" Spider-Man pointed his flashlight over at an unamused Nova.
"Yawn. You wanna scare people? Let them smell your costume." Nova retorted as he walked past Spider-Man.
"Pretend to be afraid all you want, my little lightbulb. But look around you. Creepy graves, Halloween night, full moon. You'll all be crying to Fury before I could say 'boo'!" Spider-Man said as he shined the shined the flashlight over his face to give himself a creepy background.
I just rolled my eyes and pushed his legs off the low dead tree he was standing on, making him fall over. "Not funny, webs for brains." I glared before walking past him.
"Man... what's got her down. Did you say something to her, Iron Fist?" Spider-Man asked the K'un Lun worrier.
"Actually, I'm not certain. She's been like that this whole month. She claims she hates the holiday." He explained.
"Ari hates Halloween?! Who doesn't like Halloween?!" Spider-Man asked in bewilderment. "And why dress up if you hate it?.."
"If you guys are done talking about me can we get back to the mission?" I asked as I turned back around to glare at them. "Now how long did Fury say we have to wait for this special delivery of whatever?"
I was cut off when we all suddenly heard a weird creepy sound blowing through the wind and we all got ready in our fighting stances.
"Remember, fear is only in the mind." Iron Fist stated.
"Fear? I think you got me confused for someone else. I'm Spider-Man. Fear isn't in my vocabulary." Spider-Man said confidently which made me rolled my eyes.
"BOO!" That was until he let out a small scream when Nova popped out wearing a Doctor Doom mask and everyone busted out laughing. Expect me. I did not find any of this funny. "Hahaha! You all should've seen the looks on your faces!" Nova laughed.
I glared as I let out a low growl before I lunged forward and pinned him down to the ground, ripping the mask right off his face and tore it apart. "Your stupid definition of 'funny' isn't amusing, spark plug! Don't you dare mock my father like that either!"
"Ok, ok! Jeez. Just a joke..." He held his hands up defensively.
I huffed before I stood up and kicked the broken mask aside. "Let's just hurry up and get this over with." I demanded as I walked past the confused and concerned heroes.
"Ok... something is definitely up." Spider-Man muttered.
"I'll try to talk to her." Iron Fist took a step forward but I turned around to glare at him.
