(Heads up, I changed the cover of the book)
After a couple of weeks of more S.H.I.E.L.D training and planning dates with Danny I needed some time on my own. Or, at least that's what I wanted to do before I got a call from Harry asking to hang out.
I did owe him for that time we were supposed to hang but a situation came up and I was told to stay out of it by the heroes. So, I'm currently at the Oscorp penthouse hanging out with the son of one of my enemies. Not getting into that.
"So, how are you holding up after... you know?" Harry asked as we were currently sitting on his luxurious sofa eating popcorn and watching a funny movie.
"It's going good. I'm living with Tony Stark now. Been living with him for a while." I stated as I grabbed another handful of popcorn.
"Wait, you know Stark? Since when?!" He asked in shock.
"My mom used to be one of his best employees. And Tony is like an uncle to me." I explained.
"I didn't know you had connects to the Avengers. Maybe you could introduce me to some of them." He smirked.
"Maybe. They are some of earth's best heroes so they're always working. I actually haven't seen Tony a lot these past few days. Guess he's busy with something." I shrugged as I grabbed my cup of soda and drank it all. "But enough about that. How are you and the web slinger?"
His smirk faltered into a frown and he slumped back against the couch as he crossed his arms. "It's... complicated. I don't really wanna get into it."
"Sorry. Didn't mean to.. I just wanna make sure you're doing ok." I placed my hand on his shoulder. I felt guilty for bringing down the mood and making him upset. Harry has been through a lot. He's been venom for a while now and his dad is Spider-Man's greatest enemy. I know how he feels. I'm still curious about the Goblin situation actually.
"Eh, it's alright. I get it." He shrugged it off and smiled at me. "I'm getting through it. Actually, my dad is doing better now."
My eyes widen once he mentioned that. "Wait, what? What do you mean? Isn't he still the Goblin?"
"Actually, no. Not anymore. Spider-Man finally found a cure for him. Took him a long time to do it though.."
My eyes widen even more after hearing that. When did Norman Osborn return to normal?! When did Spider-Man do that?! Why am I the last to know these things?!
"Uhhh, Ari? You ok?" Harry got my attention by waving his hand in my face.
I finally blinked my eyes and shook my head out of my thoughts, trying to smile it off. "Fine. Yeah, I'm good. I just... didn't know he was back to normal now. That's great..."
Norman is no longer the Goblin. But I can't tell him that I still hold a deep hated grudge against his dad for almost killing me by dropping me from a roof! I know he was the Goblin but I knew he knew what he was doing! I can never forgive him for that.
"If he's back to normal, where has he been?" I asked.
"Not sure. Probably going back to his old ways and focusing on his work still... but I'd rather have that than my dad still be the Goblin." He sighed while shrugging his shoulders.
Right... I bet my life that Spider-Man knows something about this.
I tried to contain my boiling anger as best as I could while Harry's attention went back to watching the movie. But I couldn't just sit still. I had to confront Spider-Man about this. Peter, you have some explaining to do!
I acted as if I was checking my phone before quickly standing up and giving my best fake smile. "I'm sorry, Harry. I have to end our hangout a little early. We can pick this up ok. I have some things I need to do for Tony. He just texted me. I'll see you later, ok." I waved bye and grabbed what little stuff I brought with me and left his penthouse.
