Holy. Fucking. Shit.
She'd said it. A WHOLE WORD!! I couldn't believe my ears when I'd heard it but the word was unmistakable. Unfortunately the word sent chills through my body. Hungry. She'd said clear as day the word hungry. As we all know there was only one thing that these Things ate. It shocked me to my core, I'd be interacting with her like a pet... when I should've been regarding her like a bear. Cuddly exterior, complete predator on the inside. With all that being said a whole new headache began. Just like a child learning a cuss word that was the only thing she said for the next weeks. Hungry. On repeat. For WEEKS!

The first week however was terrifying! She still grunted and howled for regular "conversation" but when I was at least expecting she'd wip out "hunnngrryy!" And freak me out beyond all compare. Once she'd gotten used to the word it was the only thing she'd say. I'd wake up "Hungry." I'd be playing video game, "hungry!" It never stopped. She even started using her tone to display things like disgust and irritation.

Once a month had passed and I'd finally gotten tired of hearing the word hungry, I decided I'd try teaching her another word just to break the monotony. I got onto my pc and brought up the cameras view so I was looking dead into her crystal blue eyes, which had seemed a bit more lively since learning a word and using it OFTEN. On my second screen I brought up a link on teaching languages. It seemed that.... Ughhh repetition was the key to learning new words and languages. I'd also found that using hand signs along with the word or languages helps retention. I was in unknown territory trying to teach a blood thirsty Thing, however I was gonna do my best!

"Hungry!" She said sternly, looking me dead in my eyes. "Listen ok, I'm tired of hearing that one word. We are gonna change that!" I considered what word should be her next word. It had to be meaningful and be very usable. Maybe my name? I mean it'd work with her constantly howling at me right? "Hungry?" She said questioningly. "Ok so here we go. I pointed to myself with both hands "Jake. Jake. Jake. J-aye-ck." I repeated this word over and over, pointing to myself, sounding the word out.. "Hungry. Hungry.... J....jjj.....jjjjjja. J.... Aaaaaaa...... ke...... jaaaaaak.....jjjaaaaakkkeee..... JAKE!!!!" Holy fuck she'd done it!!! The word fell out of her mouth foreign, but as she kept saying it, the word became more and more familiar. "Jake... hungry?" WTF!?! She's already put her two words together? This was truly unprecedented! The walking dead learning to speak and communicate? I just wish I could tell somebody! Let them know there might just be hope for the human race after all!

It went on and on like that, for the next year I'd sit down after doing all my chores and leisure's and I'd teach her words, one at a time until she could repeat it over and over again...

"Jake.. wake up. Wake up! Want talk. Hungry."
