Third Person’s POV
Jack fully descended the stairs and came to a stop in front of his wife. Grabbing her by the waist, he leaned in whilst tracing his fingers down her face. “Do we really still have you to go out? Only I should be allowed to see you looking this ravishing,” he said, biting his lip.
Genevieve simply smiled and place her arms around his neck. In the heels, she was just over his shoulder. “But it was your idea to go out, baby.”
“Yeah, but we can always stay in and do…something else,” he countered huskily, making her giggle.
She gave his lips a quick kiss, fearing she would mess up her lipstick. “We can always do that when we get back?” she offered, and he tilted his head in contemplation. Sighing, he let her go but held her hand, tugging her towards the door.
“Fine, but I will definitely be reminding you about that later tonight,” he said as he walked her out the door and towards the garage, where one of his many Lamborghinis was pulled out front. This one was burgundy. One of his guards gave him the keys and then he opened the door for his wife. Saying a small ‘thank you’, Gen slid in and he closed the door behind her. She buckled up and placed her clutch on her lap just as Jack opened the driver’s door.
After also buckling up, Jack gunned the engine and began to move out of the driveway towards the gate. From the side mirror, Gen could see three black SUVs move out of the driveway as well and follow behind them.
Rolling her eyes inwardly, she turned to Jack. “So where are we off to, darling?” she asked a few moments later.
Jack gave her a sideways glance before smirking. “That is for me to know and for you to find out eventually, dear. But I can already tell that you’re going to love it,” he responded all too cockily.
Smiling, Gen turned on the radio and a familiar song began to play. “You can be so arrogant at times, but I guess I wouldn’t love you any other way,” she trailed off and he just winked at her.
In about twenty minutes, they pulled up to a building and by the looks of it, it was an expensive looking restaurant. Stepping out, Jack handed the valet his keys and went around to open the door for Gen. Holding his hand to her, she stepped out as well and immediately looked up at the giant sign with neon lights that read ‘Walking Shadow’. The valet drove off with his car and one of the SUVs followed suit. A bunch of other guards hopped out of the other two and then made their way over to the couple. People who were around them were shooting inquisitive looks in their direction.
“Is this really necessary, the guards?” Gen practically groaned. Jack held her waist and proceeded into the building, with guards in front and behind them.
“It’s just for our protection,” he stated softly but she ignored him. Once in the building, they were greeted by a friendly middle-aged man who was the maître d’. His aways swept across the small crowd before him but his eyes lingered on Gen, however.
“Good evening, sir and ma’am-,” he began but Jack cut him off abruptly.
“Dinner reservation under Hirano,” he said tersely, and Gen nudged him by the elbow. The man’s eyes widened in realization, and he gulped in what seemed to be fear. Rounding his desk, he rushed to lead them.
“O-of course. Right t-this way,” he fumbled pathetically and led the way. Gen shook her head at this but remained quiet, nonetheless. Getting deeper into the building the beauty of the restaurant finally occurred to her. It had an aquatic feel to it, with numerous fish tanks in every other place and by the looks of those dining in it, only rich people could afford to be seated in there. But they didn’t stop as the maître d’ ascended a stairwell away from the area.
