Gen’s P.O.V
I’ve always enjoyed riding in helicopters, especially when my father would allow me to ride with him sometimes. What I liked about them most was the feeling that you were on top of the world and the aerial view made me feel like I was running out of breath, and I feared closing my eyes and breathing in deep because…what if it all faded once I did.
Today, as I was being held captive over the fine skies of Texas, I couldn’t help but snort at the irony of it all. My hands were tied together in front of me, a blind fold over my eyes and my lips were taped shut. For all I know, they could very well just throw me out except for one thing; they needed me to give them Jack’s files.
I hadn’t said much to them, just that I would help get the files but I hadn’t told them where to look specifically. I feigned having a vague idea of where the information they wanted could be, because I needed to buy some time. I had a plan in mind, hopefully it would work in my favor.
A few hours later and we had landed somewhere, probably the back yard. I was roughly ushered out of the chopper and dragged by my elbows into the house and pushed onto the couch, where they finally removed the blindfold and tape from my mouth. Arturo, Dr. Evil and Aurelio towered over me with expectant looks. Time to put those high school play acting skills.
“Well? Where are they?” Arturo demanded, eyes as hard as two marbles.
I gulped softly and shuffled uncomfortably. “H-he told me that he had files all over the house. I haven’t seen them myself, but they could be anywhere,” I told them with doe eyes and a quiver in my lip. I honestly hoped that was convincing enough.
My plan wasn’t all too smart, but at this point, it was all that I had. I would sneak into Jack’s office, type in the code and lock myself in his secret room. Right now, my chances were looking rather slim but as soon as they started looking, I hoped they would be stupid enough to leave me to my own devices. I highly doubted they would, since Gemma was here and she kept on giving death glares.
“I think upstairs would be a good place to start,” I trailed off. That was when Mr. Mafia dude began to bark orders to his goons and they all dispersed upstairs. I almost wanted to laugh out loud at how dumb this all was. Did I actually sound that believable?
A throat clearing brought me out of my little awkward thoughts, only to find Gemma’s poisonous glare directed towards. “So, you want to tell me where the files actually are?” she said calmly, cracking her knuckles for effect.
I squinted my eyes at her. “You of all people should know that Jack would have never told me about where to find such documents. Heck, he didn’t even tell me he was in the goddamn mafia. If anyone knows, it should be you,” I stated and made a non-committal sound. My cards were fully exposed and she was on to me, but I wouldn’t back down.
She gave a long hard long before abruptly rising from the couch. “This is bullshit. I’m telling Aurelio that you have us chasing a rabbit on a stick,” she spat and began to walk away. Before she could get any further, I halted her in her tracks.
“Wait, don’t. I’ll tell you where they are,” I mumbled lowly and she turned to look at me. “But first, I would like to use the bathroom.” After I said that, she gave me a look of disbelief. I rolled my eyes at this and held up my tied hands up to her.
“One, I haven’t peed in hours and two, my hands are tied. Now, unless you want me to piss on the couch right now, then you’re going to escort me to the bathroom so that I can do my business in piece. Then once I’m done, I’ll tell you everything you need to know.”
