In an instant, the doors flung open. Revealing a small dark figure, it was hard to make out who it was, but the sound of her voice chilled me to the bone; I knew who it was.
"You can't have the final due with only Goods class captain. That wouldn't be fair to my darling nevers." Her voice echoed the room.
It was as if all the happiness and hope from both sides had slipped from the world. She then strut down the aisle like a model stopping at the bottom of the stage, awaiting something.
"Well, aren't you going to announce me!?" She snapped at the wolf. The wolf fell back in fear but quickly got up. "Uh, I-INTRODUCING CLASS CAPTAIN NEVER S-SOPHIE OF WOODS BEYOND," the wolf stuttered falling back
Sophie smirked, strutting to centre stage she pulled down her red hood, revealing her wrinkled face, nose covered in warts, her emerald green eyes were now a murky green
"Sophie enough," a voice spoke from the steps of the stage. "The Circus is over. We already have a winner,"
It was Tedros defending Agatha. Its the right thing to do. Her talent was so beautiful. Her talent reveals the truth. My talent shows destruction, a never quirk. I can see why he chose her.
"Winner? Her!? But it's only fair that every duel has finished, and then the schoolmaster chooses a Victor. Isn't that right?" Her head turned to the wolf who nervously nodded.
"See," she gestured, "even the wolf agrees. This game isn't over till a Victor is crowned, and that Victor will be evil."
First, Brone began to chant "evil EVIL." He threw his fist in the air. "TEAM EVIL!" Everyone else joined; the chants only grew louder. the evers than joined as well, "TEAM GOOD TEAM GOOD TEAM GOOD"
If the competition wasn't fierce enough already, it was now. The stakes were even higher. I stood there dumbfounded. Sophie clapped with her hands laughing at the chants of good and evil. "See, Teddy? they want a winner now back off. " With that, she stood hand on her heart, and her other hand stretched out to the audience.
As she was beginning her act, she was stopped by the same Prince on one knee on the stage. "Agatha of Woods Beyond, will you be my princess to the ball?" He asked. Heads spun to Agatha, including mine. "No," my voice croaked. The theatre was now silent. Tedros is still waiting for a response.
"Yes," she responded. My heart shattered. He chose her.
"Beatrix of Jaunt Jolie, will you be my princess to the ball?" Chaddick asked. I twirled to find every other Prince one after another. Each prince fell on one knee and asked their princess to the ball, including Giselle.
"Yes!" Each one of them squealed. I desperately searched around me for someone to ask me. Then my eyes fell on Tedros still on his knee, except he wasn't looking at me he was looking at her and she was looking at him smiling, both of them smiling at eachother.
"No," I whispered. I realised the feeling too late or maybe it was never mutual. I took a glimpse over at the nevers. Some of them actually looked upset. Their snares softened. They didn't snap at them or pretended to vomit. For once more, I felt pity for the nevers they aren't allowed to fall in love.
Clearly, I wasn't the only one upset I could sense Sophie's dishonour and jealously, and it was making her face glow red. Sophie then sang out at full, screaming a high high note.
Ravens smashed through the ceiling pecking at any ever, or never they could find fairies and wolves dove in for Sophie, but the ravens dove in first to attack them and defend their queen.
I stared at all the damage that was being caused. That was when I saw the Circus of Talents Crown inching towards Sophie. Think, Hildy, of something, ANYTHING . My thoughts exploded onto me.
