Morgan
After the fair, Hank proved he was a man of his word when his actions matched his words. He would tell me what he was doing and show me his phone. But it didn't matter. If he wasn't with me, he was working on the ranch.
I started my new job at Heart's Grocers, working in the bakery. I would whip up fresh cupcakes, muffins, donuts, and any other baked goods for people. I found I enjoyed it immensely.
Customers enjoyed the treats and returned for more, making Heart's Grocers a popular spot. I even set aside treats for Hank and brought them home. I wasn't expecting a surprise waiting for me when I came home.
I walked into the house to hear rustling from the dining and noticed Hank's back to me. He was standing at the kitchen table, fussing with something.
"What are you doing?"
Hank stiffened before pushing a breath out and turning to face me. "I wanted to surprise you."
"Surprise me with what?"
Hank stepped aside to reveal a brand-new laptop sitting on the table powered on. "You mentioned writing. So, I bought you a laptop so you could write."
My brows lifted in surprise as I walked toward him and the laptop. I set the plastic container of baked goods on the table. "You didn't need to buy me a laptop. It must have cost you a fortune."
"I wanted to, Darlin. I have money. Why not use it on someone?" Hank shrugged.
"But that's your money. You earned it."
"But you're my woman. If I want to spend money on you, I will. Just accept the damn laptop, Morgan."
My toes curled, and heat pooled between my legs when Hank took charge. Something about a man being assertive dampens my panties.
I moved toward Hank, slipped my arms around his neck, and kissed him like my life depended on it.
Hank pulled back and ghosted my lips. "Don't start something you don't want to finish, Darlin."
"Then don't stop." My words gave Hank permission to crash his lips into mine.
Hank hoisted me into his arms as my legs wrapped around his waist. He carried me upstairs while never breaking the kiss. I wanted this man something fierce.
Once we got to my bedroom, Hank pulled away and set me down.
"Why'd you stop?" I asked.
"Are you on the pill?"
"I stopped taking the pill after I left Rodney."
"I don't have anything, Darlin."
"Oh."
Hank cupped my cheek and stared into my eyes. "Trust me. Nothing would make me happier than to throw you on that bed and enjoy every part of you. But I don't want kids until we get married."
"So, what's stopping you from running to the store?" I curled my brow.
Hank looked at me before running out the door. I shook my head and giggled.
******
HankI broke my neck, running to the truck and heading to a pharmacy to buy protection. Morgan was making it so damn hard to act like a gentleman. All I wanted to do was bury myself into her balls deep and claim her ultimately.
I arrived at the pharmacy, rushed inside, grabbed a pack of protection, and left. I broke all speed laws to get back. Then I ran upstairs and burst into the room to find Morgan dressed in a frilly bra and panties, waiting for me. I didn't hesitate to strip down to my briefs, climb onto the bed, and hover on her.
