The events last night at the party had really shaken most of the residents of Mystic Falls. Jenna had hugged Lexa when she walked in the house later that night. Lexa didn't mind. She loved Aunt Jenna.
The next morning, Lexa had just finished getting ready after her run, when she walked out to see Aunt Jenna pacing slightly. Elena came out of her room then.
"Do I look adult? As in, respectfully parental?"
"Depends on where you're going" Elena told her. Lexa nodded in agreement.
"Jeremy's parent-teacher conference. Hair up or down?" She asks. She puts it up to see their reactions.
"Sexy Stewardess" Elena tells her playfully. Jenna lets her hair go, and shakes it out slightly.
"Boozy housewife" Lexa tells her with a grin. Jenna laughs slightly.
"Up it is" she announces. Then, she turns to Elena with a raised brow. "You're feisty today. It's usually just Lexa here"
"Hey!" Lexa exclaims, only slightly offended. She knows it's true.
"I feel good, which is rare. So, I've decided to go with it. Fly free, walk on the sunshine, and all that stuff. Where's Jeremy?"
"He left early. Something about getting to wood-shop early to finish a birdhouse" Jenna says absently. She pauses, and looks at Elena. "There's no wood-shop is there?"
"No" Elena sighs out disappointed.
"I don't know why he lied to you. He went to check on Vicki. After all, he was the one who found her. And, they are close. Why wouldn't he check on her?" Lexa told them. Jenna smiles in thanks at Lexa. Elena just looks irritated.
----------
History was a bore. Stefan and Elena just stared lovingly at each other. Even Tanner noticed. Lexa had to stop herself from banging her head on her desk. She got caught behind them after class whilst trying to make her way to Caroline. They were flirting over a first edition book. When Stefan told her that it was passed down through the family, Lexa pulled away rather quickly. Yeah, right. Passed down, my ass thought Lexa. She turned the corner and found Caroline talking to Bonnie.
"I'm confused. Are you psychic, or clairvoyant?"
"Technically, Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks, or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor so, I kinda tuned out. Crazy family, yes. Witches? I don't think so"
"I think it would be cool to be a witch. I could set fire to my enemies" Lexa joined in. Caroline and Bonnie laugh. "I could do it anyway. Give me some gasoline and a match" Lexa mumbles as an afterthought. Bonnie and Caroline drag Lexa away, before she actually sets fire to anything.
----------
At the end of the day, Lexa was bored. So, she decided to join Aunt Jenna so she could support her against Mr Tanner.
"As Jeremy's teacher, I'm concerned. All right? It's the third day of school, and he's skipped six classes" Tanner tells Jenna.
Lexa lets out a low whistle. She was impressed. Jeremy had always strived to do the impossible it would seem.
"Mr Tanner, are you aware that Jeremy, Elena, and Lexa's parents died?"
"Four months ago, a great loss. Car accident. Wickery Bridge, if I remember correctly. And you're related to the family, how? The, uh, mother's kid sister?"
Slowly, Lexa was losing her temper at Tanner. That entire sentence was filled with derision and condescension. If he carried on, Lexa was not going to be responsible for how she acted.
