A storm blew through Mystic Falls, unearthing the shallow grave of Vicki Donovan. Caroline had found it after setting of to see her father for the weekend and the mud washed away. She'd immediately phoned her mother to report the finding. Lexa and Jeremy were planning on using this to see whether Elena would come clean on the supernatural to them. They would be subtle though considering Elena still wasn't planning on telling Lexa that they were adopted. If she couldn't tell her that, she definitely would keep her away from her vampires.
Lexa found out from Pearl and Anna that a few of the more extreme tomb vampires had kidnapped Stefan after the death of one of their own. Damon, Alaric, and Elena had rescued him. Anna followed up to warn them that Stefan had consumed human blood. He was a ripper and that could be dangerous if they were around him alone. Jeremy thanked Anna with a smile, whilst Lexa smirked at the pair. They still wouldn't admit their feelings for each other. Since Anna had got her mother back, Lexa had no problem with her. It was only when she was planning on using Jeremy, and stalking him, that she had a problem. Caroline was updated on the situation. The blonde told Lexa and Jeremy about how Matt wanted to be more around Elena in his grief than his actual girlfriend. Jeremy had to hold Lexa back from hurting Matt even though he felt the same way. Caroline had become another sister to him through this time and Matt continued to choose Elena.
One morning before school, Lexa and Jeremy were running slightly late after going for a run in the morning. It had been a new route that took them longer than they thought.
"Come on, Jeremy! Going to school! Walking out the door now!" Elena yelled up the stairs.
Lexa and Jeremy looked at each other and rolled their eyes in sync.
"I'll catch a lift with Lexa!" Jeremy yelled back.
The two siblings grabbed their school bags and walked down the stairs to see a visitor in the entry.
"Uncle John! You're here!" Lexa yelled happily as she ran down the rest of the stairs and jumped in his arms. He laughed at her enthusiasm and hugged her back.
"I'm here, Lexa. I have some business to attend to. How are you, Jeremy?"
"I'm good, Uncle John. We better be off Lexa. See you later" Jeremy tried to say nonchalantly. His eyes however showed how happy he was to see his uncle.
Lexa finally let her dad go, and he told the both of them to have a good day at school.

At school, Jeremy was planting the seeds of doubt about Vicki's death. Tyler had been the one to tell him she'd apparently overdosed. So, he'd questioned why she was buried. He knew asking questions like this would raise suspicions in Elena. The plan was to see what she'd confess to first, the adoption or even a hint of the supernatural. Lexa had betted on the first to which she'd segue way into the second. With Ric knowing about Elena and the supernatural, she'd guess that he'd show her Jeremy's history paper.
After school, Jeremy, Lexa, Jenna, and John were in the kitchen, having Chinese, talking about the Founders Day kick-off party.
"I've no interest in the Founders' Day kick-off" Jeremy grumbled. Lexa laughed.
"If I have to go, you do too" she told him whilst making her snack.
"Sure you do, it's tradition" John told the two teens.
"It will be our role to break tradition" Jenna said with a smirk.
John was repressing a smile at the banter. "The Gilbert's have been a part of this town for a hundred and fifty years. We're one of the founding families and with that distinction comes certain obligations including going to the party. Especially with our heritage"
