DAY ONE - HOUR SIX

Ei is avoiding you like the plague, and you can't help but thank the archons above because if she wasn't and you had to look at her copy and paste face every five seconds you'd surely want to die. More than you already do, anyway.

That was depressing.

Sighing, you push up and around the living room, trying to find something to stoke your interest. But there's absolutely nothing in this entire cabin.

And you're hungry.

Ei reenters the room just as your stomach grumbles, and you awkwardly lay a hand on it.

"Sounds like you're hungry," She mutters. Looks like we've got an empath on our hands people. You roll your eyes.

"How many brain cells did you use to come up with that one?" You grumble and push up, meeting her distant gaze.

That's something you always notice with Ei. She's physically present in the room, yet never there behind her eyes. Which is weird. But if you stare too long at them you get those bad migraines, so instead you force your gaze away and question her.

"Are you hungry too?"

Ei sighs. "I am."

You hum and play with your hands, the silence almost dawns but you don't allow it. "Go make us something."

Ei is quiet.

Abnormally so.

"Did you not hear m—"

"I can't cook."

Oh. You squint, and despite yourself, look over at her with an unimpressed glance. "You can't cook?" You look her up and down. "Aren't you like— almost thirty?"

"I'm twenty-seven," Ei scowls, crossing her arms. "Yae or my sister used to cook for me. So I never bothered to learn."

You stay squinting. "Are you dumb?"

"Kill yourself."

With a overly dramatic huff you stand and cross your own arms. "Taking that as a yes," You wave awkwardly her way and move to leave the room. "I'll go cook something. Don't break anything."

Ei rolls her eyes. "Listen to your own advice."

"Cunt." You grumble.

"Bitch." She retorts.

_____

Someone really should have stocked the fridge before you and Ei were left stranded here. Honestly, there's so little food you're tempted to just grab a bowl and scrape up some snow.

It's been thirty minutes and you still have nothing to show.

On the counter sits a carton of eggs, that you hope are still good, and near the sink is a pan. So... eggs for dinner?
