Eileen could get behind being kidnapped if it meant she got to spend the rest of her days here.
Katie led her around the camp, pointing out all the different activities and did her best to answer all of Eileen's questions. Together they saw the lava wall (which was for sure multiple safety hazards) , the sports courts, magic archery, pegasus stables, sword classes, canoe lake - Eileen was amazed. This place seemed straight out of a story book. Katie explained how the place was protected by a magical border (hence the perfect weather) that kept both the monsters and mortals away. Somehow, they had travelled all the way to Long Island, and Katie showed her the pavilion that looked out over the Long Island Sound. Then they visited the strawberry fields, where Eileen met Miranda - the head of Demeter's cabin, who was heavily discussing something with a girl tinged green. Miranda apologised for not being able to show her around herself, and then suggested that Katie show Eileen where she would be sleeping.
The campers cabins were all very unique to the god or goddess they represented - all with completely different looks. One cabin was surrounded by barbed wire. One looked straight out of Barbie, painted pink with frilly drapes. Another looked like an exact replica of old Greek temples. One glowed with the light of the moon. They were laid out in the shape of the Greek omega, Ω, looped around a patch of green with twisted golden wings.
The Demeter cabin itself was gorgeously overgrown. Tiny white flowers of Jasmine covered the walls, roses sprouting from the porch. The wood was stained a light caramel brown, grass covering the roof. The cabin was shaped like a cornucopia with a box off the side where skylights leaked natural light inside. Each window was overflowing with an arrangement of plants and flowers, pots hanging from the ceiling by the front door. Eileen couldn't deny that children of Demeter knew how to arrange flowers. It was very on-brand.
"Meet the rest of your siblings," Katie said. "This is Derek, James, Lily, and you met Miranda before."
Four people looked up. Despite all being half siblings, everyone looked completely different. Miranda had ginger hair and a round freckled face. She seemed to be the oldest - maybe 17. She was rearranging a plant box at the end of one of the bunk beds. Derek was tall, dark, and handsome with sharp features. He was most likely Eileen's age. Lily and James were both younger and blonde with light blue eyes and timid smiles.
"Twins," Lily said, confirming Eileen's thoughts.
She smiled. "Nice to meet you guys."
Miranda stood and wrapped her arm around Eileen's shoulder. The whole place smelt of a rainforest after a storm. "You can take the bed here, if you like."
