Till I Met You

Chapter 1

"hi miss can you Page officer Chen?"(I requested at the front desk of LAPD station..)

Receptionist:"may I know your name?"(she asked..)

"Ahhmm ..tama.."

"Tamara..hey..you're here.."(a voice that cut me from talking I looked at where it came from and it's ..)

Tamara:"Uncle John..have you seen mom.."(I answered back..to Uncle John Nolan he's mom's ex boyfriend and batch mate at the police academy..but they are good friends now..they separate for good reasons and he's still looking out for me like before..)

Nolan:"ahh..I think she's still in the locker room..since when you came back here?we missed our princess.."( he greeted me back and gave me a hug..I came from my grandparents in Tennessee I had to stay there since mom went to the academy and started her rookie year..but I came by every school vacation That's when I met him and uncle Jackson..I just have never been to her work place before..)

Tamara:"well fresh from the airport..it's nice to see you again and be back here.."

Nolan:"let's hang out soon..i would like you to meet someone.."(he invited.. excited tone..)

Tamara:"did you have a new girlfriend now?is it the doctor Lucy was talking about?"(I kinda teased him..)

Nolan:"no unfortunately she's married..but I'm dating someone better I think you two could get along..I'll ask your mom to take you with me..we can.."(he corrected with an excited tone..)

Voice:"take you where?where are you taking my daughter? And why didn't you call me Ms. Tamara Chen?"(mom's voice butted in..)

Tamara:"he wants me to meet his new girlfriend..and my phone was dead..I asked to Page your name..welcome me back mom I missed you.."(I answered sarcastically and asked for a big hug..she's same as usual very strict but concerned parent..I love my granny's but I missed being with her so much..)

Lucy:"ok..I'm sorry..I missed you too..how did you even get here?"(concerned tone..and hugged me back so tight gosh I missed her..)

Tamara:"I googled the station..mom I'm already 16 I can travel on my own.."(I reason out..I told her I'll be coming tomorrow and she said she'll have the day off so she can pick me up but I actually planned to surprise her..cause I just missed her a lot she's been very busy lately and we barely talked on the phone..so I just figured out how to see her..)

Lucy:"correction turning 16.."(she corrected..)

Nolan:"your still be our little princess..I'll let you two catch up..I'll message you for our plans Tammy..I gotta go..bye guys.."(he inserted and we bid goodbye..mom's smiling but her eyes looks sad..I just hug her and..)

Tamara:" can we eat at chick fill a?I'm kinda hungry.."(I ask in favor..with my signature beautiful eyes and a big smile..)

Lucy:"of course we can I only eat there when your here..I missed you my baby..let's go make you full..hmmm"(she answered with a tight squeeze then we we walked out of the station..I'm just so happy I'm reunited with her again..)

Lucy's POV
It's been months since I last saw her and she's back in my arms again..my sweet big baby..yes my daughter Tamara Colleen Chen..15 yrs.old..

I had her when I was 17..I got in a relationship with my first guy that is few years older than me..we got intimate until unexpectedly have her..but when he find out I'm pregnant he just disappeared my parents were furious but when they held her in their arms everything changed..

They let me continue my studies until I graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology they wanted me to get into a medical school to be like them a psychiatrist..but it's not really my passion I'm thankful for what they did for me and Tamara but I can't find myself on the position they wanted me to be..

She grew up with my parents around us..until I needed to move here in LA almost 3yrs. Ago for a change of career I entered a police academy to hopefully help making change in law inforcement and justice system..mom came with Tamara when I graduated after 6months but dad didn't..

I continue to be a rookie at LAPD mid-wilshire station with my batchies from the academy Jackson West the legacy son from the  family of politics and police officers..and Jonathan Nolan the walking mid life crisis as per our watch commander..it's harsh but its the reality his the oldest rookie from the academy to the station..but I'm proud of what he became after more than 2yrs he overcome all the challenges we could have faced on the job and now his a respectable training officer in LAPD..the golden ticket luck..

Tamara:"mom..can I request something?"(she butted in on my storytelling..were at her favorite fastfood Chick-fil-A and currently eating..)

Lucy:"depends on the request..what is it?"(I answered quite nervous she's very unpredictable on request so I'm nervous I cant give it and disappoint her..)

Tamara:"can I continue my studies here? I'm kinda getting pressured by granny's plan for me on college..I don't want to disobey them but i really don't wanna be a psychiatrist.."(she confess..I hated my parents for turning my disobedience on my daughter I love them but I can't let them control us..)

Lucy:"are you sure?I mean I would really love to but your friends are there and with my work I can't always be around to look out for you.."(I honestly said..I need to let her know what she should expect..I'm working 12hours a day and sometimes longer..I honestly don't know if I can take care of her..I mean I always had a help of my parents for her..

Tamara:"I'll be fine your here..and I can make new friends here..I want to be with you..not all the time but at least I know I can see you anytime..mom please.."(she begged and how can I resist a big baby with a begging beautiful eyes.. of course I melt.. she's a grown up now..I missed a lot already since I moved here why not..)

Lucy:"ok..will talk to granny about that and I will process your school paperwork for transfer..let's finish this and go home we need to fix your room.."(I answered with a smile..and she beemed with excitement..we finished our food quick and head home to fix her room in the apartment..I used to live with Jackson but unfortunately he was gone because of lafiera the drug queenpin that kidnapped Lopez and had Jackson killed by a 17 years old gun man..it was devistating even Tamara mourns for him a lot..but we don't have a choice but to move forward..)

I'm so happy that I'm with my daughter now I'm excited and nervous of what's gonna happen next for us but I'm hoping it's for the best..
