Human/Hybrid Mischief

Phoenix had been missing since I woke up an hour or so ago, but Blue was still around watching me like a hawk. He's still not letting me live down any of the close call incidents which happened at least almost a month ago. Or the fact that both Phoenix and I played a minor, very minute, harmless prank on the male. Which involved a few fake snakes that we may or may not have found. Although we totally weren't planning another prank on him when we go to the watering hole later.

Okay that's a lie.

About two hours later I was sitting with my legs to the side of me on the scaffolding, when a charcoal black Raptor with a fire-like stripe and blazing blue eyes came back into the original Jurassic Parks visitors center.

Only when she turned back to her human form, her jaw was set, posture tense, a low growl emitting from her. Either coming from within the back of her throat or within her chest. Although it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to know she was agitated.

That's putting it lightly.

From what I have figured out about her, she has a calm, calculating anger. She also compartmentalizes everything. Only acknowledges it when it bursts to the surface. Plus she doesn't really let things get to her.

Not mentioning the Dilophosaurus nest incident.

"Ese bastardo hijo de puta. No puedo esperar a que regrese para poder hundir mis dientes en su maldita garganta." That bastard son of a bitch. I can't wait for him to get back so I can sink my teeth into his fucking throat.

My eyes widened, while I jumped startled as Phoenix started to rant in Spanish, with me picking some of it up. Didn't help that she was helping me with it as well as I also helped her with sign language. I think she learnt a lot of colorful language from the Puerto Ricans who worked around the Raptor Paddock.

"Dioses, esperen hasta que le ponga las manos encima." Gods, wait until I get my hands on him.

Dios, she is more agitated than I thought.

"Phoenix?"

That caused her to turn to look at me, her electric blue eyes shining brightly with her pupils in slits.

I then watched as her pupils went back to normal as her gaze turned soft when she then took a few calming breathes to center herself.

"Morning, Nym," Phoenix spoke softly to me.

I could still tell she was tense, but she was compartmentalizing. I know I shouldn't pry, but I am a highly curious person.

"Are you okay?" I gently asked.

The reaction I got was something I was expecting, as her pupils were switching from being normal to slits and back again.

"I'm okay. Just . . ." she trailed off trying to think of something to say.

"Agitated? Tense?" I offered, which got a chuckle from her.

"You could say that," she nodded although she was hiding it, I could see the exhaustion in her eyes.

I knew that was probably all I was going to get so, I just let the subject drop especially if the reason for her being so tense was because of a certain mad scientist. Then . . . yeah, no way in the seven hells was I going to ask anymore questions despite how much my curiosity is trying to get the better of me.

Shaking the thoughts away as I looked back at Phoenix who held this calculating look within her eyes although I could imagine that there was a storm of thoughts running through her mind especially when she closed her eyes letting out a deep sigh as her furrowed brows relaxed. When she opened her eyes she looked directly at me and grinned.
