Kolton

"I don't know he has been in school for about a month now I think" I answer Kimberly's father as he took another impatient sip from the mug in front of him.

"Listen Kolton, I don't think you are understanding the complexity and seriousness of the situation" The man answered sounding just as impatient as before.

I couldn't help but brush my palms across my  mouth as I used every brain cell to remember when Mason Salvatore came to Mystic Falls.

"...So please think harder"

"The first day of school" I finally bursted out and said.

"He was walking in with the dead boy"

Mr.Martin couldn't help but tilt his head at what I had just said. The "dead boy" I was referring to was Jeremy Gilbert.

One day he is announced dead and the next he is re-enrolling at the high school.

"John Gilberts family?"

"Listen Mr.Martin I only agreed to do this if it was actually getting these freaks out of town" I tried to say.

"I need you to keep an eye on my daughter, that is your duty. I am not throwing my best friends child into the middle of supernatural warfare" He ordered before standing up and stretching.

Mr.Martin dropped a fifty dollar bill on the table and let out one final huff. He did order a lot...

I flinched out of my seat and chased him down the aisle of the diner.

"But you promised!"

"Fine" He mumbled before picketing around and taking hold of my arm.

Stumbling beside him, he brought us outside of the diner and pinned me against the wall. Allowing his left hand to drop I couldn't help but flinch.

"If you see the Salvatore boy around Kimberley, you give him the test and if he fails you kill him on sight. Just like how I showed you..."

Mr.Martin poked his finger deep into my chest where my heart was.

Kimberley

(Two  Weeks Later)

Slowly, my finger tips traced around my lips with the plush pink lipstick. Normally it would be red, but as of two weeks ago red isn't a color I am not associating with for a while. That night isn't something I want to remember, but it seems like every little thing I do makes me think back to it.

It was just a few weeks ago where my blood inevitably smeared on the shower wall. After the shower who can I go to with this without sounding like an absolute lunatic? No body...

"Oh you're going to school today?" My mother flinched in confusion.

Her words stabbed me with fear so still it made me quiver. Although I missed most of the week it wouldn't hurt to just go on a Friday. Then who knows, maybe I get to stay in all weekend under my blankets until this big blob of fear decides to leave my mind. So currently the only one...or thing that knows about that night is my diary. As of now I intend to keep it that way.

"I am still oblivious to the fact why she hasn't been going recently in the first place" My father says barging by my mothers side.

"Neither do I but what I do know is that if we do not leave now then we might as well not go at all" Kolton laughed brushing his way past the two.
