Elsa's POV

I avoided anyone I knew for the rest of the day. As soon as school ended, I hurried to a store and bought some gloves. After I put them on, I felt safer. Now I wouldn't accidentally spread ice anywhere.

I snuck back into the safe house, which Kristoff and us girls were all sharing. The next morning I got up before everyone else and left for school.

The school was pretty empty, so I was probably early. I decided to wander around and give myself a tour. The first few classrooms were empty, and I didn't see anyone until I went into the library. As I was looking at the books, I bumped into Jack. Oh great. I was trapped. There was no way I could leave without him noticing.

He looked up and saw me. When he realized who I was, his expression changed. First he looked a little embarrassed, then he looked confused, after that he looked nervous, and finally he looked like he had made up his mind. He walked over to me.

"Hey Elsa. Didn't expect to see you here," He said.

"I didn't expect to see you either," I said.

"I looked for you after lunch, but I didn't see you anywhere," He said. I didn't reply. Jack sighed.

"Look, about lunch... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said what I did," He told me. Out of all of the things I expected Jack to say, this wasn't one of them. Maybe he wasn't as bad as I thought he was. Maybe below the cool act he was just a nervous sensitive teenager.

"It's all right. Sorry I reprimanded you. I probably sounded like my sister," I said with a laugh. Then I turned away and wiped my eyes when I remembered that Anna had been kidnapped. I didn't want Jack to see me crying. Jack noticed anyway.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"It's nothing," I said. Jack realized that I didn't want to talk about it and changed the subject.

"What's with the gloves? Are your hands ok?" He asked.

"They're fine," I said.

"Can I see?" He asked, gently taking hold of my hand.

"No. Please, I don't want to take off the gloves," I said while jerking my hand away. Something changed in Jack's eyes. He looked sort of angry. It was scary.

"If you ever need anything, just tell me. The guys and I will watch out for you," Jack promised.

"Sure. See you later Jack," I said. I walked away quickly. I didn't want to be anywhere near Jack and his creepy eyes.

Jack's POV

It was sort of embarrassing that Elsa caught me in the library, but I had a feeling she didn't mind. Or at least she wouldn't go around blabbing about it.

I was worried about her though. Something was obviously bugging her about her sister. Something big by the look of it. And now she was wearing gloves, which she wasn't wearing yesterday.

I felt oddly protective of Elsa. Which was weird. What was happening to me? First I feel bad about what I said about her, then I don't mind when she reprimanded me, and now I wanted to protect her and kill whoever made the frost.

And believe me when I said I was going to find out who made the frost. I don't know what they had against Elsa, but they were going down. Hard.

I put the book I had been looking at back on the shelf and snuck back out of the library. If Elsa had caught me in there, who else might show up? I wasn't about to admit to loving to read, not after teasing needs so much about it. Especially Kristoff.

I decided to start figuring out who had made the ice. What better place to start than the cafeteria?

I walked into the cafeteria and walked around the table we had been sitting at. The ice was melted now, which didn't help me at all. I stood where Elsa had been standing and put my hands where hers had been.

Anyone could have cast the frost at her from here! How was I supposed to find the one person who did it in the crowded cafeteria?

I took a deep breath, then let it out. Maybe instead of trying to find whoever made the frost, it would be faster to find out who didn't like Elsa. It wasn't like she had been here long. The list was probably short.

"Don't worry Elsa. I'll get them, whoever they are," I growled.
