Sulking

Elsa's POV

After Jack and I talked in the library, him and Eugene and Hiccup seemed to have made themselves our personal escorts. Merida, Rapunzel and I that is. Kristoff didn't seem too happy, but at least they didn't treat him badly.

"I heard that Infinite is playing at the movies tonight. Did any of you guys want to watch it?" Jack asked at lunch one day.

"Sure, sounds fun," I said.

"I'd love to go too!" Rapunzel exclaimed.

"Never heard of it," Merida said.

"It's about this guy who's girlfriend is dying, and so he goes to find the secret to immortality so that she can live," Eugene explained.

"Wouldn' ya rather watch Free?" Merida asked.

"Aw, come on Mer! It'll be fun!" Rapunzel said. Merida rolled her eyes.

"I can never say no to ya, Punz. Course I'll come," Merida promised.

"Great. Should we all meet at the theater at seven?" Jack asked. We all nodded except for Kristoff.

"I've got better things to do," he grumbled.

"We'll miss you," I said.

"Yeah, I bet you will," Kristoff grumbled while walking away.

"What's his problem?" Merida asked.

"We've had some history with Kristoff. He probably just isn't ready to forgive us yet," Hiccup explained, watching Kristoff leave.

"See you guys then!" Rapunzel said, turning to leave.

"Where are you going?" Eugene asked.

"I'm going to cheer Kristoff up," she replied. She walked away, leaving Eugene to watch her go. I smiled slightly. Rapunzel was so innocent and free, she probably didn't even realize that Eugene had a crush on her.

"Want me to come by to pick you up?" Jack offered.

"No, the theater isn't far from where I'm staying. I'll just walk," I said.

Later that evening, I set out for the theater alone. Kristoff was staying home, Merida was out doing something (I didn't actually know what she did in her spare time), and Rapunzel was going to the theater directly from a club meeting.

As I neared the theater, I slowed down. The streetlights on this part of the street were all burnt out. I shivered and stared around. I tugged on the gloves to make sure they were still on before continuing forward.

"Hello, Elsa," a female voice said.  It had a slight echo to it.  I couldn't tell where it was coming from.

"Or should I call you Queen Elsa Villa?" the voice continued.

"Who are you?" I demanded as I spun, searching for the speaker.  She laughed.

"Surprised, huh?  Didn't think we would find you so fast?"

"What are you talking about?"

Whoever the person was, they knew my true identity.  Which meant they were probably trouble.  Could she be with the Black Arrow?

If she was, she knew where Anna was.

"Where's my sister?" I demanded, clenching my fists.  The voice laughed.

"Your sister?  Which one is she?  There are so many that I lose track.  She's probably in her cell with the other maggots."

I clenched my fists.  Frost began creeping over the gloves, smothering the fabric.  A shadowed form stepped into view.  With a wave of their hands a powerful gust of wind knocked me to the ground.  My vision faded in and out as my head throbbed where it had hit the ground.

"You're not the only one with powers, Villa," the voice said.  "Remember that when it's dark and you're alone."

"Hello?  Who's there?" someone called.

"In Black Arrow, a princess murder needs no witnesses," the female voice hissed.  My vision faded as I heard receding footsteps.

Jack's POV

The streetlights were out again.  It seemed like they were always out around the theater.

I pulled my hood up over my head as I trudged forward.  I wondered if Elsa would be at the theater.  Maybe she'd sit next to me.  For no reason other than so I could catch whoever was trying to freeze her.  What other reason would there be for sitting next to her in the movies?

I heard a loud thump and gasp.  Instantly my hands were out of my pockets and I glanced around.

It sounded like voices were coming from up ahead, but I couldn't see anybody in the darkness.  Who was out there?

"Hello?  Who's there?" I called.  I paced forward as the voices fell silent.  Someone took off running.  Another form was on the ground.  I increased my pace, dread crawling over me.  Within moments I recognized the person on the ground.

"Elsa!"

I ran forward and knelt beside her.  Her eyes had a dazed look to them.  The side of her head was wet and dark.

"Elsa!  Elsa!  What happened?"  I demanded with my hands on her shoulders.  I noticed she was still wearing those silly gloves.

And they were covered in frost.

"Hold on, Elsa, we're going to the hospital."
