Bria, Beth, and Kate were seated at a beautifully decorated table in the lavish ballroom, overlooking the bustling work function. The room was alive with vibrant colors, twinkling lights, and the soft melodies of a live band. Laughter and conversation filled the air, creating an ambiance of celebration and joy.
As Bria and Kate sipped on their glasses of sparkling champagne and Beth with her apple juice, their eyes wandered around the room, taking in the sight of their colleagues mingling and dancing. xcitement brimmed within them, anticipation for the evening's surprises building with every passing moment.
Just then, as if on cue, a hush fell over the room, drawing everyone's attention to the grand entrance. Drew's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, made their way into the ballroom, exuding an air of sophistication and grace. Bria's heart leapt in her chest at the sight of them, her eyes fixated on their every move.
"There's drew parents" Bria points out.
"Has Drew ever invited you to meet his parents?" Beth asked.
Bria's face softened, a mix of emotions washing over her. She took a deep breath before responding, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness.
"Yes, it was actually supposed to be the day after everything went to hell. We had plans, preparations were made, but then... it all got cancelled. I was left with a broken heart and shattered dreams." Bria says nonchalantly.
As Bria turned to look at Kate and Beth, she noticed the sympathy in their eyes, their hearts aching for her.
"Guys, I'm not going to keep on dwelling on the past. Moreover, you both have incredible partners who love and support you. I want nothing more than to see you both happy and cherished, and it brings me joy. Maybe in the future, I'll get that too, who knows." Bria says.
"You just need to give it time. Life is definitely on its own schedule and full of curve balls. If someone had told me a year ago that I would now be in a committed relationship with two men, gone to Europe for a weekend, moved in with them, and oh, of course, ended up pregnant with twins, I would've laughed in their face," Beth says.
"Speaking of the twins and pregnancy, how is it going? I'm so happy for you, Bethy!" Bria says.
"Um, pregnancy is definitely an adventure. Some days I'll feel great, and others, well, I just want to sleep all day. But I'm most excited for them to finally be here, but that's a while from now. But the gender reveal is coming up, and it has me going crazy not knowing," Beth says.
"Ahh, girl, I'm so excited! I hope you three love it. Everyone has helped Bria, and of course, all three grandmas. And I can't lie, they have all spent a lot of money, and I can't wait to start spoiling my babies the day they are born," Kate says.
"I already told them, and you, it doesn't need to be extravagant. Small and intimate is just as lovely," Beth says.
"Oh, we know it will be small and intimate, but the little things will be there, and the cute decorations, and the gifts. I mean, we couldn't help ourselves." Kate says
"Yes, sis, these babies are going to be so loved. We can't help ourselves. I'm so excited to be an aunt, and I can imagine Seth and Decker are over the moon," Bria says.
"Oh yeah, they won't stop talking about being fathers, and they are always around to help and make sure I don't do too much. It's cute, but sometimes it's irritating. I can't lie," Beth says.
"I bet they are thrilled to help with your hormones. I saw how they couldn't keep their hands off you before pregnancy, so I can only imagine now," Kate says, wiggling their eyebrows.
"Kate, you are so bad! But on that, absolutely no complaints. And oh, their sweet little surprises, so cute too. I love them," Beth says.
"And speaking of surprises, get ready for this one!"
