SONG OF THE CHAPTER: SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN BY WATERPARKS
Anna's POV
"Oh my god mate! How much money do you think we have?" I asked James astonishingly.
"What you're a famous musician? You can afford this 7.3 million dollar house right?" He giggles.
"In our dreams." I rolled my eyes and tossed a pillow at him. He laughs and tries to catch it, failing and falling off the bed we were sitting on. We were looking at rentals in our area but got sidetracked by the houses we most definitely couldn't afford."Ugh we're never going to find a place. At least not in our price range." I huffed and flopped back onto my bed.
"I'm sure we'll find something bub." James assures me as he gets off the floor.
"We've been to millions of inspections and even had dad go guarantor and still they keep declining us."
"This is true."
"And dad's career allows him to afford this area which is so overpriced. I don't really feel like moving an hour and a half away from mum and dad." I sigh looking at apartments in Hemet and North Valley."Oh no your dad is a fancy musician and has to live in one of the richest suburbs of LA." Abi says sarcastically as she lets herself into my bedroom.
"I know right. My life's so hard." I giggled in the same sarcastic tone.
"So hard." She agrees, flopping on my bed next to me.
"Also yeah no worries just walk on in here. What if I was changing or something."
"Or something?" James repeats giggling.
"Shut your face." I laugh, throwing the pillow back at him. He caught it this time and threw it straight back at me causing me to fall off instead. He helps me back up and I turn to Abi.
"So anyway what's up?"
"Eh not a lot. Moms at work all day and I got bored. Sarah let me in. What about you two?"
"Yeah fair enough. Looking at houses. Again."
"Ah any luck?"
"Nope. I'm too broke."
"Just stay here? You're only 18. It's not like Brendon and Sarah are going to kick you out any time soon."
"Yeah I know. I just want to live independently."
"Is it really independent if you're with your boyfriend though?"
I rolled my eyes at her just as mum walks in."Hey kids."
"Hey mum. What's up?"
"I'm heading to the mall if you want to join?"
I looked at the other two and they agreed.
"I was just complaining about being broke but let's go."
We all laugh at that comment and pile into mums car. Once we got to the mall, mum went her own way and the three of us wandered about."I feel like a third wheel." Abi complains as James grabs my hand.
"Call your boyfriend to join us then." I tell her.
"No I'm not with him anymore."
"Wait what? Since when?"
"Since like last night."
"Oh my gosh are you okay?"
"Oh yeah I'm absolutely fine, we weren't made to be with each other and weren't vibing with each other as much as we'd hoped." She shrugs. Sounds about right for her. She had been in quite a few relationships that didn't last much longer than a month, once they got past the honeymoon phase I suppose. I did hope that one day she does find someone she 'vibes with' as she puts it."As for you two, you're made for each other. You must be coming up to your 2 year anniversary soon right?"
"Correct." James smiles, kissing my cheek. "22nd of March."
"That's not really soon? It's December?" I questioned his judgment of time.
"Close enough." He shrugs.
"Fair enough."
The three of us wandered around for a bit longer looking at the end of year sales but since Christmas had just passed, none of us had too much money to spend. We all ordered a coffee and sat waiting for mum when I noticed a familiar face."Jenna?" I called out. She turned and smiled when she saw me.
"Hey love." she says and she hugs me.
"What are you doing here? I haven't seen you or Ty in so long."
"Visiting some other family for the holidays and we got invited to your families New Year's party tomorrow night."
"Oh right. Party of course." I smiled. It was an annual thing for dad to host a New Year's party.
