After that he pulled me down next to him. He wrapped his arm around me and I put my head on his chest. I listened to his heartbeat like it was my favorite song. We stayed like that for about 10 minutes, just enjoying each others company. A while later I heard soft snores coming from Layne. I smiled as I tried to get free of his grasp. When I did, I walked over to the door. I turned back to look at him and smiled.
I'm glad he's OK but I wish I hadn't been the one to injure him. I walked out the door and was met by the doctor from yesterday. He smiled and patted my shoulder.
"See. He's fine." I nodded and walked down towards the cafeteria. I walked up to the counter and asked for a vanilla bean frappuccino. The boy handed me my cup and smiled, telling me it was on him. I thanked him and started back to Layne's room. I stepped in, noticing an awake boy I've come to love.
"Where'd you go?" I held up the coffee and laughed softly. I took a sip, cringing at the weak flavor.
"Is it bad?" I nodded and handed him the cup. He took a sip and cringed. He looked at the cup, his eyes landing on one spot. I followed his gaze and saw there was a phone number and a message.
Hey cutie! We should hang out sometime. Call me Xoxo -Dylan
I looked up at Layne, who's face was like stone. I was scared. Scared he was mad at me, scared he would think I was lying about loving him.
"Hahahahaha!" Layne threw his head back laughing, my chest tightening with fear. He set the cup down and looked back up at me. His face turned from joy to concern.
"Hey, you OK?" I nodded.
"I thought you were going to be mad at me. I was scared." He opened his arm, inviting me to lay with him. I climbed in with him and he pulled me close. He wrapped his arm around my waist and pressed his lips to my forehead.
"Jaz, there is no need to be scared. I could never be mad at you for something you didn't do. Who ever that guy was, he will not get my girlfriend." I smiled and rose up just enough to give him a short, sweet kiss. He called me his girlfriend. I have a boyfriend.
*Knock Knock*
"Come in!" Layne yelled. The door opened and revealed the doctor. He smiled and nodded at me.
"I just came to check up on you." I got up and sat in the chairs by the bed. I heard a small whine from Layne and I smiled at him. The doctor checked him over and asked him a few questions.
"Seems like everything is fine. He'll have to stay here for about a week so we can make sure his bones heal properly." I nodded and looked at Layne. He was looking at me and smiling. I smiled back and grabbed his hand, intertwining our fingers.
"If there are any problems, feel free to call us. I'm Dr. Harvey by the way." Dr. Harvey left and Layne opened his arm again. I giggled and climbed next to him, laying my head on his chest.
"This week is gonna be really shitty. But I guess I'll make it. Only cause I have you." I cuddled onto his chest even more, feeling drowsy. I soon fell asleep in his arms, feeling safe for once.
*Dream*
I don't know where I was. There was a cliff and some woods. I looked down and noticed I was tied to a pole. I looked back to the cliff and saw 3 figure. It was Jack, Layne and Amber. Amber looked at me a smiled a wicked smile. She walked up to me and laughed.
"You are pathetic!" I looked at Layne and he walked up to me. He crouched down and whispered into my ear.
"Everything I said, did or promised was a lie. The truth is you make me sick and I hate you with all my heart." Tears were falling down my face. I could feel my heart break as he said these words. I looked at Jack who was next to Amber. He stepped forward and took a deep breath.
"The first time I saw you, I thought you were the most disgusting, ugliest girl I've ever seen. I was only kind to you because I felt sorry for you." I hung my head and let out all the sobs I had been holding back.
"Layne..." I heard a familiar voice. It was her. My mom! "Do it." Layne came over and untied me. He held my arms behind me and pushed me to the cliff. He let me go when we got to the edge. I turned around and saw all of them including my mom. Amber had a whip, my mom a gun, Jack a knife and Layne a tazer. They each took a step forward and I took one back.
"Your choice Jaz." Jack's voice called out. "Jump or let us kill you." I looked back and closed me eyes.
"OK..." I leaned back allowing myself to fall. I opened my eyes and saw the bottom approaching. "...Goodbye World."
*End of Dream*
I jolted up shaking and sweaty. I looked over at Layne who was still asleep. I jumped out of the bed and grabbed a pen and paper. I scribbled a note telling Layne I went for a walk and I'd be back later. Once I was done, I ran down the halls and out the door. I ran to the park where Jack and I first met. I sat on a bench and pulled my knees up to my chest. I sat there crying into my knees, scared to death of the nightmare I had just witnessed.
"Are you OK Jasmine?"
