Hey guys!! I'm sorry that I don't update alot but I have school, forestry and ton of other stuff. But Enjoy!!
Recap...if only I could have heard him.
"I DONT CARE!!" I opened my eyes, greatful that the room was dark. I sat up noticing I was back in my room. At Layne's house.
"GET AWAY!" I turned my attention towards the yelling coming from down stairs. I ripped the covers off me and ran out of the room, ignoring the pain in my leg and the throbbing in my head. I got to the top of the stairs and crouched down. I could see Layne and some girl.
"Layne, baby, I was drunk. I didn't mean it. You know I wouldn't do that to you." She said sweetly. Layne's face turned from mad to pure anger.
"SO YOU WERE "DRUNK" ALL 7 TIMES I SAW YOU MAKING OUT WITH OTHER GUYS!!??" He screamed at her like if he didn't yell, she wouldn't hear him.
"Come on Layne..babe I'm sorry. Please take me back. I love you. Not them." She leaned towards him, her hands grabbing his shirt. I could feel something inside me break slightly, but I don't know why. I watched them, prepared to see something nasty. But Layne resisted. He shoved her away, his anger still visible.
"WHAT THE HELL MACKENZIE!!! I TOLD YOU, I LOVE SOMEONE ELSE!! YOURE A SLUT!" She looked surprised at his words.
"Fine but you'll be back. Who ever she is, she a ugly, worthless piece of sh*t that needs to burn in hell!" She walked out of the house, slamming the door behind her. Layne sat on the on the couch and rested his head in his hands. He was most likely thinking.
I stood up and walked down the stairs quietly. I sat next to Layne and tapped his shoulder. I must've scared him because he jumped when I touched him.
"Are you OK Layne?" My voice was raw from crying and my jaw was sore from the kick to it.
"Yeah just my ex girlfriend. The real guestion is are you OK?" I nodded even though it caused lots of pain.
"It...hurts..."
"I bet it does. I cleaned the cut on your leg and checked out your other injuries. Bruised ribs, stomach, and cheeks. You also have scratches on your back and one on your cheek."
"Ow..." I looked down at my hand and saw blood on it. This isn't a new sight. It seems like I'm always bleeding. My thoughts were interrupted by my stomach growling.
"Hungry?" I looked up at him and nodded. "Come on." He got up and started towards the kitchen. I stood up, turning towards the kitchen when I felt light headed. My vision became spotty and dark so I quickly sat down. Layne walked back over to me, worry in his eyes.
"Can't walk?" I shook my head no, wincing at the pain it caused. "Here." He held out his hand for me to grab. I took it and he pulled me to my feet. But before I could become dizzy, he swept me off my feet bridal style. My face burned as I smiled appeared on it. He carried me to the kitchen and set me on the counter.
"You stay here and I'll make you some food. Soup sound good?" He asked smiling. I nodded and he began cooking the food. I couldn't help but watch him. He was amazing. I guess you could say I have a crush on him. But he said it himself, he loves someone already. And they're not me.
"Here." Layne handed me a bowl of soup and a spoon. I took a bite and smiled. It was delicious and I was glad to finally have some food. We sat there in silence, both of us eating. When I finished my soup, Layne took the bowl and set it in the sink.
I managed to squeak out a "thank you" even though it made my through burn like there was fire in it. He walked back over to me with a smile on his face. He hopped up on the counter next to me and laughed.
"You know you shouldn't talk that much. I don't want you to be in anymore pain than you have to be." He closed his eyes, getting lost in thought most likely. I looked at him, studying his features and beauty. That's when I saw something. There was a barely noticeable drop of dried blood coming from under his t-shirt sleeve. I lifted his sleeve up ,seeing a long, deep cut. His eyes flew open in surprise.
"Layne...what happened?" His slid off the counter, pulling down his sleeve in the process. He turned towards me and put on a fake smile.
"Its nothing." I hopped off the counter, my body disagreeing. I rolled the sleeve back up studying the wound.
"No...its not nothing." I started to get light headed once again, my vision screwing up, too. I tried to stay focused on Layne and his injury but I couldn't. My legs gave out and I started towards the floor. I prepared for the impact which never came. I opened my eyes to see that Layne had caught me. With his hurt arm.
He picked me up once again and carried me to the living room. He layed me on the couch and kneeled in front of me. He smiled, his eyes glistening.
"You need to rest." I looked over at his arm and noticed blood dripping down it. I sat up, shaking my head.
"You'll let me clean and dress your arm, then I'll rest." He nodded and walked our of the room, returning with peroxide, bandages, antibiotic cream, and some rags. He set them on the coffee table and sat beside me.
I rolled up his sleeve and looked at the bleeding wound. It was obviously reopened. I picked up a rag and cleaned away the blood. I set that one down and picked up a new one, putting peroxide on it. I touched it to the cut, cleaning it. I looked up at Layne, who happened to be watching me. He had a tear rolling down his cheek. I quickly took the rag off the cut, scared that I hurt him.
"D-did I hurt you?" He shook his head and wiped the tear away.
"Its just...I don't get it..." Seeing him like this just broke my heart. He looked so helpless and broken. I picked up the bandages and wrapped them around the cut.
"How could somebody hurt someone so...so...amazing." He looked at me, his eyes filled with care. He got up and grabbed a blanket and pillow out of the closet. He placed them next to me and smiled at me.
"You need to rest, Jaz." I smiled at the nickname and layed down. I put the pillow behind my head and Layne tucked me in.
"If you need anything, I'll be upstairs." He turned to walk towards the stairs but something came over me. I need him here. Bad things always happen when he's not around.
"Layne?" My voice was still hoarse, so it was extremely quiet. Yet he heard me.
"Yes?" He turned towards me and smiled.
"Can you stay here with me?" His face turned pink as he nodded. I scooted over, making room for him. He set his glasses on the coffee table and laid down next to me. He was still blushing, which is adorable. Tiredness over took me as I laid my head on his chest. I could feel my face turn red as he wrappend his arms around my waist. He rested his chin on my head. I could basically feel him smiling.
"Thank you." I mumbled into his shirt. He pulled the blanket over us, returning his hand to my waist. I was about to fall asleep when Layne mumbled something I didn't understand.
"What'd you say?" I said cuddling into him even more.
"I said 'No matter what, I'll protect you."
