A/n hey I'm back...with another SAD part. Yeah...don't worry it'll get better. Thank you and Enjoy.
Recap...Can you sing something for me?
"Here? Now?" I sipped my coffee, smiling at his excitement.
"Please Jaz." He put on a pouty face, which was adorable.
"OK but you're singing with me." I stood up and held out my hand. He took it and we made our way to the small stage in the front of the café. He picked up an acoustic guitar and set up a mic in front of him. He sat down as I picked up a wireless mic.
"Do you know Pretty Brown Eyes by Cody Simpson?" He nodded as I sat down. He began to strum. He started singing as he closed his eyes.
Layne's POV
"OK Sarah, time to go home." A sad look crossed her face but she started to pack her bag up anyway.
"Jasmine! I'm taking Sarah home!" I waited for her response but it never came.
"Jasmine!?" My heart beat picked up as I looked at Sarah. "Do you know where Jasmine is!?" She shooked her head no and sat down on the couch. I ran up stairs to her room, hoping she was asleep.
"Jasmine!!!" I searched the entire house frantically. There was no sign of her anywhere. I sat down on the couch, out of breath. I began thinking of a plan when I remembered the little girl next to me.
"Come on Sarah." I took her hand and led her to the truck. The drive was silent and short. I dropped her off at her house, accepting the $25 her mom gave me. I got back in my truck and hooked my phone to the Bluetooth. I decided to call my friend, Jack, knowing he'd help me. I hit the call button as I pulled onto the highway.
"Hello?" Jack's voice echoed through the empty truck.
"Jack! I need your help!
"What is it?"
"I met this girl a while ago and I really care for her. She's been staying at my house and I've grown to like her. Like, like her like her. But the thing is she disappeared sometime today and-"
"Hey Jack? Who is it?" I'd know that voice anywhere.
"JASMINE!!" I smiled a huge smile. I was happy she was safe. I was so distracted by Jasmine that I didn't notice something. The 18-wheeler in the middle of the road. All I can remember is crashing into it and everything going black.
Jasmine's POV
"JASMINE!" I heard Layne's voice ring through Jack's phone as Jack winced at how loud he was. We were at Jack's house playing Mario Kart 7. He handed me the phone and I put it to my ear, expecting to hear Layne's wonderful voice. But I didn't. What I heard was horrifying. The sounds of two cars crashing came from the phone.
"Layne? LAYNE!? PLEASE ANSW-" I was cut off when the line went dead. My eyes widened as tears filled them. I dropped the phone and it crashed to the ground. I looked at Jack as a tear slipped down my cheek.
"Jasmine? What's wrong?"
"L-layne's car...crashed. We have to go to the hospital! Jack! HE COULD BE DEAD!!!" Tears fell from my eyes as Jack pulled me to his truck. It took 45 long minutes to get to the hospital. As soon as Jack stopped the truck, I jumped out and sprinted into the building. The sounds of screaming children and crying filled my ears as I rushed towards the front desk.
"Layne Hughman?" I was out of breath from running and I'm sure I looked horrible from crying. She checked her papers and looked back at me.
"Have a seat." I nodded and took a seat by Jack. I began to think about what could've happened to Layne. My mind continued to drift back to the fact he might be dead. Tears spilled out of my eyes at the thought of Layne lying in the hospital bed. His body still, his blue eyes shut and his beautiful voice hushed...forever.
Jack pulled me into a hug, allowing me to sit on his lap. I cried into his chest, soaking his shirt and prayed that Layne was going to be okay.
A/n OK guys thats it. Hope it wasn't too sad. If you enjoyed remember to vote and comment. Love y'all!! Xoxo -Em
