The Lost Queen

44. 1 Year Later

1 year later.

I wake up an hour after I go to bed with a stabbing pain in my chest. Damn asshole. Alden's with a female. It's not the first time. It's the 3rd. I'm sure it won't be the last either. The first time hurt. I guess in a way I thought he would try to fix things with me or figure out he actually liked me. But that didn't happen. Now it's just an annoying pain I can't sleep threw. Lucky for me it doesn't last that long. I start laughing. That's actually a funny thought. Then I wonder if he's taking someone to the ball. That thought makes me sick to my stomach but then I remember the list is already final. He didn't take anyone. He's never had another female around me. I've never had another male at all. Pretty sure I'll never find 1 that's interested in me. The pain finally goes away and I lay back down.

I wake up in the morning and get dressed in a queen gown. I throw the scarf over me to hide more of my shoulders and boobs. I still hate how tight everything is. I feel covered enough though. I go to my office and work on the pick up lists for the ball. The kings ships are done. Victor, Tobias, Alkawn, and Elroy are picking up their own planet leaders in their ships. If they have enough rooms. They each have 5 planets now. Elroy caught right up but he has a couple easy planets. Tera helps him. But honestly we all help each other. 

Elroy sits down at my conference table. "What's going on?"

"Finishing up the pick up lists. I don't want anyone getting forgotten." I hand them my paper.

Elroy nods, "I've got the Fladier, Aerou, Oolium, Smunlacia, and Kant leaders, Victor has..."

"Do you have enough room in your ship?"

"Yes. I need 14 guest rooms and have 20."

"That does work. Did everyone have enough?"

"Yes. Victor was closest. A lot of his took business associates instead of their mates. Most of mine took mates. I think I had 1 date and 3 business associates. It works. We'll get them all there. Relax."

I shake my head. "And who from us is riding with who?"

"Elek and Tera are with me. Ken and your mom are with Victor to keep him out of trouble. Tim and Bryan are with Tobias. Jenny is with Alkawn. Clark is with Alden. Alden is only picking up the Klekrakas."

"Why? They're not my planet."

"To include them and make them feel important. We are still working on getting them to submit."

I roll my eyes, "WAIT. Where am I?"

"With Alden. He wants you arriving with the Klekrakas as well."

"That is so stupid. They are not my people. I don't even want them there and I do not want them at the meetings. It's not their business what we do."

"They want to see it before they submit. It'll be fine. Give them a minute to get to know us."

I cross my arms, "I'm putting them in the servant rooms."

"I'm sure Alden will love that idea."

"Who cares."

"He's still your mate."

"No. He's the king. I will refuse that bond. I'm working on it."

"Fine. But everything is good. Everyone has a ride. Everyone knows what they're doing. The shield is already on the planet. Anti war guns are stationed all over it. Alden ordered 2 war carriers over there for the event. And he put like 20 more on standby."

"We should do more."

"Just think about what Dipak's face will do when he see's the war carriers and 4 extra ships."
