55. Punishable By Death

I wake up a couple hours later and stretch big. I'm in Uhmok's office but he's not here. I got a big puffy blanket on me though. I'm warm. I sit up and realize my underwear are not on my ass. I look around and they're gone. "Where is he?"

"Elevator."

"Very unhelpful brain."

"Sorry."

"Where is he going?"

"Unknown."

"Yea, I guess that makes sense. Where are my underwear?"

"In his pocket."

"Well that makes less sense."

The door opens and he comes in. "Sorry baby. They called a meeting and I guess I have to go to those for some reason. I don't know." then he sits by me.

"Why did you take my underwear with you?"

"Well Tobias came in to tell me about the meeting. I had to do something with them. I didn't want him seeing them."

I laugh and give him a kiss. "I guess that's true."

"Tera gave everyone a speech about how you may sleep more for the next week or 2. And to leave you alone if you're sleeping. All while glaring at me. I think Elek told her."

"Maybe or it could be that she figured out I was sleeping in your office." I snuggle in beside him and lay my head on his shoulder.

He pulls me onto his lap and snuggles me. Then he gives me a little kiss. "What is going on with the bond between us?"

I feel it and it's about 60% connected. That's to high really. 

"What are you doing to make it come apart baby? And why?"

"You're going to be leaving. I don't want my heart to get broke. I focus on you going away and it will disconnect some of the bond. Usually like 2% at a time. It's really connected right now."

"My dragon thought your dragon was doing it?"

"No. She's ok. She really likes your feather. Will I have to give it back when you leave?"

"No."

"That's good. You may have to fight her for it if you want it back. She's convinced it's hers."

"It is hers. And yours."

I smile and snuggle against him.

The dragon says, -24 hours- in my head.

"In 24 hours I can get pregnant."

"That was fast. It went from 3 days to 24 hours."

"It's not exact. My body controls it. The dragon only gives me the final notices. When I first felt it I thought days and the brains said it was nearly 2 weeks. So it's better to have the plan ready to go. The 24 hours won't change though. The dragon knows our body. She's watching it all."

"How does she feel about the bond being severed between you and Alden?"

"Good king. Bad mate for me. She was upset then she was ok. Then she was upset again. He ruined all her plans." I shrug my shoulders. "Maybe it's a lot for her to let go of too."

"Is he ok with it?"

"I don't know. He's done enough that I'm not going to ask... I know I'm not perfect but all I did was wake up. I wanted my mate and was happy to have him. I didn't want anything else. I thought that was the same for all mates."

"What happened to end it?"

"He promised that after my brother was gone he would mark me. He took his dragon. He promised. Days before my brother died I went up to his office. He was with a blonde. She was everything I'm not. It broke my heart. I stayed away from him after that. Then he came to tell me my brother was dead. I said it didn't matter because he wasn't planning on bonding with me anyways. The only thing he said was that my brother had followers that got away, and Tim's mate was killed. He wasn't going to risk bonding with me. They could come after him too. I threw him out of my apartment and left. I went to space. That was it for me."
