Rusty rose his head from the catbed, tired,excited and anxious. he padded to his bowl and ate. then he stood up and looked at his twolegs, who were burning their prey?. rusty always thought that was weird, he walked outside, bristling as the twoleg said ''rusty! get back inside!'' he continued to walk around, refusing to get back in. he noticed smudge, padding towards smudge, smudge gasped ''Rusty! your alive!'' rusty rolled his eyes ''yeah, yeah. anyway!-'' rusty was cut off by smudge ''What happened in the forest?!'' rusty meowed ''Oh- the thunde-'' smudge screeched ''THUNDER? WAS THERE THUNDER?'' Rusty looked at smudge with a weirdened face.

''Smudge- no- i wasnt that far from the nests-''

''Well what happened!?''

''I met thunderclan cats! and they asked me to join them!'' meowed rusty eagerly, smudge's eyes widened ''WHAT?! n-no! dont join them! the- they are bad!'' stuttered smudge ''dont do it! if i were you i wouldnt join..'' rusty tapped his tail, looking down.

''smudge, im sorry but i decided.''

smudge looked at rusty, with drooping ears and a drooped tail. ''your serious about joining them?..''

rusty nodded, sighing slightly. tapping his tail ''im sorry smudge, but my twolegs will get a new cat! you'll get along quickly!'' rusty attempted to cheer smudge up.

''no rusty! it wont be the same..'' he wailed. his head dropping down. rusty meowed ''smudge, you get along with everycat, im sure it'll be the same!''

smudge shook his head and meowed dreadfully ''could we atleast spend this night together rusty?.''

rusty nodded. sitting next to smudge, as time passed. smudge and rusty were playing with their toys, telling jokes and sharing goodbyes.
