Again, this is basically a preference bc you and Data are not together.

*A week later*

The class was quiet when the bell rang to signify the end of the day.

"Have a good day, everyone." I said as everyone accumulated out of the classroom.

I sighed and started on what tomorrow's assignment should be.

I also started getting the hiccups, bothering me every 5 seconds or so.

But I was deeply focused so I didn't really care about them.

"Hiccup: Noun." I heard and immediately knew who it was, I scoffed and buried my face in my hands to laugh.

I looked at Wesley and saw that he brought Data with him to sit and talk.

I bet he has more questions...

"Definition: An involuntary spasm of the diaphragm."

I sighed, or at least I tried to until a hiccup cut it off in the middle of it.

"Welcome back Wesley, I'm assuming you want tomorrow's assignment?" I said jokingly, and Data just sat back and watched the conversation.

"What?" Wesley asked, a surprised look on his face," No, I just wanted to check up on you, you seemed kind of upset during class this morning." He said, a bit of a worried look on his face.

"I'm tired, I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." I said.

"Why?"

"I was grading pop quizzes for my last class." I said, setting some stuff aside.

"I heard that you hate that class." He said,

I saw Data make a confused look.

"Hate is a very strong word, and it also does not define every emotion I feel for all of those students."

"Is disappointment one of them?" He asked, and I saw a student return, looking at the floor throughout the classroom.

I saw Data open his mouth to ask a question and I raised a finger to tell him to wait a moment.

"Huh, you can sure read minds." I said sarcastically.

"But again, not the right word to describe the entire class."

"What are you looking for, Tyler?" I asked him.

"Oh, I thought I left something here."

"Can you describe it for me?"

"Oh yeah, it's a necklace with a butterfly charm that has little fake diamonds on it."

I nodded, opening a drawer on my desk, and pulling out the necklace.

"Why do you have it in there?" He asked as he walked up to my desk.

"I wanted to keep it safe." I said as he put his hand out.

"Who's it for?" I asked, giving it to him.

"Melissa, for our 1st anniversary, it's in 5 days."

"Aw, that's so sweet."

"You should get her roses too." I said.

"Yeah, I was thinking tulips because those are her favorite."

"Ooh yes, get her those."

"Do you really hate one of your classes?" Tyler asked, obviously hearing the conversation Wesley and I were having.
