THE HOLIDAY SEASON continued, as Beomgyu planned to walk to the nearest candle making shop that his best friend, Soobin, texted him the address from—- yes, candle making. its something that Soobin always loved and Beomgyu grew to love. it became a tradition every year that they would do for his birthday, a precious tradition that they each held close to their hearts.

Beomgyu and Taehyun decided to spend it the way he wanted, especially since the others were out of town.

Beomgyu placed his beanie on, a simple grey one in harmony with his grey sweatshirt and jeans. he quickly grabbed his phone, wallet and gift bag carrying the gift after putting his coat on, and walked out the door.

he recieved a "hurry up!" text from Soobin, as he chuckled at the enthusiasm radiated from the screen. thankfully, Beomgyu lived in the busier part of the city, so everything was quite close and easy to walk to. it wasn't too late either, the sun was just setting.

the door chimed upon Beomgyu's arrival as the two boys standing at the counter choosing fragrances for their candles. the boy secretly snuck up and shook Soobin's shoulders, scaring the life out of him.

"happy birthday!"

"it'll be my last birthday if you keep doing that." he laughed as Beomgyu placed Soobin's gift on the bench.

"i make an orange one last year and it smelt disgusting." Taehyun reminisced. "should I do mint instead?"

"no, remember when Hueningkai chose that and nearly gagged?" Beomgyu laughed.

"oh my God, i totally forgot about that." Taehyun laughed. "i think i'm gonna do cinnamon."

"hey! you stole mine." Soobin rolled his eyes. "you made the decision between the two a little easier for me, i'll go with Lavender."

the two sat down at the table and pulled up a chair for Beomgyu as the boy still pondered which one to make.

"i think i'll do vanilla."

"you do vanilla every time though." Taehyun pursed his lips.

Beomgyu laughed. "i do, don't i?" he smiled and took a seat alongside the other two. the instructor came up to them shortly after and explained the steps, even though the boys were well familiarized already.

"if you have any questions, just let me know." she smiled as the boys thanked her and she returned to the counter.

they sat and continued to craft the candles from their imagination. they added droplets of the scent and began to craft.

"oh, i totally forgot to ask." Beomgyu suddenly began. "how was your trip, Taehyun?"

"it was okay, we only stayed for a couple of days and somehow my cousins found something to complain about." he sighed.

"same here, my extended family always argues with us whenever they came to visit." Soobin said, placing a dollop of Lavender in his wax. "my uncle is the best chef though, when he came to visit last week, he made the most gourmet meal in the world." he smiled. "it was some fancy word i cant remember."

"well, in all honesty, you aren't that hard to impress with food, you eat literally anything." Taehyun joked.

"okay, okay, whatever." Soobin rolled his eyes and laughed. "this might be my best candle yet." he held it up to show the other two boys as a smile plastered across his face.

"i love it," Taehyun smiled proudly as he held his up. "ours look almost identical, just different colors."

the three smiled as they handed them to the woman at the front desk who would then complete the candles and give them it later on.
