Chapter 24

"Hey, Jamie, El, How you doing, guys?" Chase smiled walking over to the two kids who were throwing a baseball back and forth.

"Do I know you?" Jamie asked

"Dude... Who are you? Victoria Davis?" Questioned Chase

"Clearly." Ellie agreed

"It's me... Chase. Bartender from Tric." Chase tells him.

"I though you were Bar Manager?" Asked Ellie

"Yeah, we'll, I am..." he trailed off "hey, I built you that snow fort in Utah." He added

"Oh, right." Jamie muttered

"So, listen, um, your mum had something come up, so I'm supposed to pick you up today. You ready?" He asked

"Yeah, I don't think so." Jamie stated

"No, seriously. Your mum called Mia, and we're supposed to get you." Chase repeated

"Well, I'm kind of hungry. Do you have any snacks?" Jamie asked

"Um... I got some gum in the car." Chase suggested

"Okay, so, you expect me to get in your car and take candy from a stranger?" Jamie added "Yeah, I'm gonna have to pass." He deadpanned

"Hey, if it makes you feel any better, i'd go with you, but Julian's picking me up." Ellie tells him as Mia joined Chase.

"What's up?" Mia asked

"He doesn't want to go." Chase tells her

"Hey, Jamie. Remember me?" Mia asked "I'm Mia. I work at Red Bedroom Records."

"Oh, yeah. Hey. You're really good friends with my mum, huh?" Jamie said

"Yeah, that's right. I am really good friends with your mum." Mia agreed

"So, if you're really good friends with my mum, how come you weren't in Utah?" Asked Jamie curiously

"You make a good point." Mia muttered

"No offense, but considering my history, I'm gonna have to pass up on you, too." Jamie told him

"El, you good to go?" Julian called, Ellie turned around spoting Julian, jumping off the benches to met him.

"Good luck." Ellie smirked at Chase and Mia.

"Jamie Scott." Julian added. "Dude, your mum left me a message to pick you up. You ready?" Asked Julian

"Yeah, sure. Let's go." Jamie agreed grabbing his glove and running a over to Julian and Ellie

"Hey." Julian smiled at Mia and Chase

"Man, that kid hates me." Muttered Chase as they walked off

"I didn't even get invited to Utah." Adds Mia

"Thanks." Jamie and Ellie say as Julian hands them both a drink, the two kids walking along the tables, Julian walking by there side.

"So, what are Mia and Chase doing here?" Asked Julian

"Trying to kidnap me." Jamie deadpanned, causing Ellie to roll her eyes.

"Nice. Good thing we foiled 'em." Julian joked

"So, what went wrong?" Jamie asked

"Nothing." Julian reassured "Why?"

"Well, it's just weird that you're picking me up." Jamie tells him

"No, it's not." Julian argued "you and Ellie always hang out. We hung out together in Utah, bro. We... we had drinks at the bar, el borracho. You gave me the good-luck gold star."
