You had recently started dating Tom, you guys met at a barbecue. But there was one challenge: your parents only spoke Spanish, and he didn't know a single word in Spanish.

But you had made it your challenge to help him learn Spanish, he was very thankful but sadly he was also smoking and your parents were very upset about it. They knew about Tom.

They were skeptical but they let you meet him twice a week, and in that time you were going to help him with Spanish while also having quality time.

"Okay baby, we have to practice!" You said to Tom who was just laying in his bed watching the movie he had put on.

"Nooo baby it's so hard" he complained, nuzzling closer to your chest. You were so happy it wasn't at your house because your parents would have killed him.

"Tom, sit up, you know how much it means to me." He sat up in bed and looked at you.

Taking your hand in his, "I know i'm sorry baby"
"Let's start," he said, smiling at you.

"Buenas tardes, señora Rodríguez."
He said looking at you, and taking his hand out to shake, "Buenas tardes, Don Antonio." And he shook your hand again, and you began smiling at him.

"Okay what do you ask about afterwards?" You said as he thought for a second.

"¿Cómo está?" He said with a grin as he was unsure if he had said the correct answer, you immediately nodded and kissed him.

"Remember if my mom says 'Mira su posición, está encorvado' stand up straight baby!"
He immediately sat up straight in his bed, slapping his arm and laughing.

"Oh yeah and I have to remember to be extra nice to you and absolutely no touchy touchy."
He said as he made a sad face, pulling you into his lap.

"I'm so excited that it's already tomorrow baby!" You hugging him close, he was a little tense and you of course understood but the whole time you had left you assured him.

Today Tom we're coming to your house to finally meet your parents, he was very nervous. He had texted you throughout the day and told you how nervous he was.

You had gotten all ready and picked out a nice outfit, and your parents had also gotten ready.

You were waiting for Tom to arrive while
Talking to your dad, "¿Estás seguro de este chico? Sólo quiero que seas feliz."

"¡Papá, para, realmente me gusta este chico!" You argued back at him, he just looked at you about to say something back but he got interrupted by the doorbell.

"¡Él está aquí! mamá ven a ver"

You said to your mom as she came out from the kitchen, you opened the door and there was Tom standing in his cutie 'formal' clothes.

You dad invited him in, he looked at you and you waved your hand in a motion to show him to come inside.

He then smiled at them and said "Buenas tardes, Don Antonio." And took his hand out to shake, your dad shook his hand and Tom went over to your mother, she had a big smile on her face.

"Buenas tardes, señora Rodríguez." He said to her as she pulled him closer kissing his cheek. He had a surprising smile on his face, he then turned around to you and hugged you while saying hello.

"él es dulce, tranquilo ahora baba" your mother whispered to your dad, as your dads posture relaxed.

"¿Cómo está?" Tom confidently asked, as your dad looked at you.

Your dad then answered, "Soy bueno" your dad answered with a thick accent and Tom immediately looked at you.

"He said he was good"

Tom nodded and smiled at your dad, your mother smiled at him before walking out to the kitchen, and your dad went into the living room.
Gesturing at Tom to join him, Tom looked at you and you nodded at him.

"cuantos años tienes hijo" your dad asked Tom, you could see he was nervous. "tengo diecinueve años" he answered trying to be as polite.
You saw your mom coming in with plates and cups, so you stood up and began helping her.

While eating food your father and Tom talked some more, and you had taught him about eating everything on the plate as your parents hate food waste.

Later on when he was about to leave your mom offered him to stay, he was very happy at the idea.
He thanked her a lot and, after a while both of your parents accepted him.

But in the end, you could still only meet up maybe 4 times a week instead of only twice.
