Y/n sat on the edge of the hotel bed, her arms wrapped around her knees as she stared at the floor. She wasn't even sure how it happened—one minute, everything was fine, and the next, the weight of the world felt too heavy to carry. She had held it together all day, forcing a smile, but now, in the quiet of the dimly lit room, she couldn't anymore.
Tom had noticed the shift in her mood hours ago. The way her laughter had been softer, her replies shorter. And now, as he stepped out of the bathroom, towel slung over his shoulder, his heart clenched at the sight of her.
Without a word, he crossed the room and knelt in front of her, his warm hands resting gently on her knees. "Talk to me, baby," he murmured, his voice soft but filled with concern.
Y/N swallowed hard, blinking back the tears threatening to spill. "I just... I don't know. I feel overwhelmed, and I don't even know why." Her voice cracked slightly, and she looked away, embarrassed.
Tom reached up, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear before cupping her face in his hands. "Hey, don't do that," he whispered. "Don't shut me out."
That was all it took for the dam to break. A tear slid down her cheek, and Tom didn't hesitate—he pulled her into his arms, cradling her against his chest. "It's okay," he soothed, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Let it out, baby. I'm right here."
Y/N clung to him, burying her face in his hoodie, inhaling the familiar scent of him—his cologne, the faint smell of cigarettes, and something uniquely Tom. His arms wrapped tightly around her, his hands rubbing slow, comforting circles on her back.
They stayed like that for a while, the only sound in the room being her quiet sniffles and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
After a moment, he pulled back just enough to look at her. His fingers brushed the tears from her cheeks as he gave her a small, reassuring smile. "Whatever's on your mind, we'll figure it out together, okay? You don't have to go through anything alone."
Y/N nodded, her chest a little lighter, her heart a little calmer. Tom leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her lips—gentle, lingering, full of love.
"I love you," he murmured against her lips.
"I love you too," she whispered back.
And in his arms, she knew—no matter how overwhelming life felt, she'd always have him to hold her through it.
