Alix, the Umdrya Elf
Zoe's view
The axe twisted and turned as Avoran dashed forward with her knives, now smirking. She knows full well that she has won.
That she tricked me.
But not like this. And not now.
Because she's making a mistake.
Her strategy is clever and good for people with no real insight. You can be beaten instantly. Fencing builds on the same principle in several ways.
Frontal fighting.
In large arenas, the principle of single-shift always attacking frontally and in one direction is very bad. Unless you are a newbie. After many DnD sessions and RPGs and much more, I know exactly what to do.
And that is... run!
I spun to the side and forward, the axe caught in the stone wall and Avoran slowed down. Menko dashed to my backpack and took out the opal. Avoran used a lot of strength to do this and slowly dizzied.
"What are you doing!" I shouted to Menko angrily. The stone is important Apona said. And what Apona says is very important. "Think of a new technique, do what I tell you!"
She threw the opal to me and I caught it. What is she up to, I didn't see the method. What was the crystal for? Menko looked at me, then at the opal and at Avoran who started her spinning again.
Now I understand it, but whether the Rajoza understands it, I do not know. But I hope so! I put myself in position and waited for Menko. She made a leap forward that I stood behind her and roared. "Hey, you elf scum, you can't fight at all, you must be the worst of all Rajoza!" Avoran finally noticed her and breathed deeply. Her mouth foamed and a wrinkle formed on her forehead.
Oh, Menko was reaching a point that perhaps should have been, not crossed.
"Shut your mouth, bitch!" She screamed shrilly and clenched her hands, the dagger gleaming heavily and the wind subsiding. Hah, she fell into the trap!
She took the old familiar steps forward with her curved daggers and started screaming. Now all her energy was in that one step, which is against Menko. But Menko took her head to the side and held the dagger in her tiger mouth. The strong lower jaw and upper jaw did not let go of this bewitched dagger and Avoran was furious.
I took a running start and slipped through Menko's legs until I was in front of Avoran, holding the opal in my hand and holding it out to her. Avoran's eyes traveled to the white gem dotted with splashes of color and grew large.
She gasped and stepped back, the dagger leaving her Menko's mouth. The golden light made her tremble when she noticed who was standing in front of her. Her eyes moved to me, and I felt like she was really noticing me now.
Really looking at me, my eyes, my nose, my ears, everything. I used this moment of insecurity and kicked her in the stomach. She yelped and spat. She fell on her ass and looked up. Menko and I were standing in front of her and my sword was under her chin.
"Checkmate... Rajoza Avoran" I meant seriously and also looked at her more closely.
Her eyes were wide and distorted with fear, she had her mouth open and beads of sweat were running down her face, the fight had taken a lot out of her. Her hands were shaking. I broke the first facade.
The wind of the East, she said, was strong and incessant with many calms and gusts. But if you have an element of surprise on your side, you can outsmart even the wind.
