Amari, the quiet Aliandra

Zoe's view

This can't be true!

Amari is being chosen right now, while we're just getting to know each other! A thud on the floor made me look up in surprise. Amari had fainted. Holy shit, that was probably too much for her.

"Amari? Amari!" I shake her and pick up the opal.

My goodness, it was heavy! And then it glows gold, just like mine. While I'm waiting for Amari to get up again, I realize just how crazy this all actually is. I wanted to give Alix the stone at the end of our journey in Aeros, but Arkomak was the straw that broke the camel's back. And then I tell a complete stranger all my problems and she becomes my first best friend!

And then THIS!

Amari opened her eyes and sighed immediately. I took a closer look at her now.

She had exactly the same black hair as her grandmother, but with a light blue tinge. She also had pale blue skin and yellow eyes. There was a beauty mark under her left eye. Judging by her clothes, she came from a rich family, the shoes were made of a certain leather and had golden accents just like the black tight-fitting pants, she had a kind of holster around her waist with a quiver.

She was also wearing a gray tank top with a few holes in it. It was quite a mess, either she wanted to look rich like her family or she wanted to distance herself from them, I don't know.

She blew the strands out of her face and sat up. Amari is very interesting, she is quiet and said that she is actually not good at communicating, but then she answered me so much and is hilariously open.

"Okay... I'm chosen to "fight" with you against Arkomak? Okay... Okay" She sighed loudly and shook her head in disbelief.

"Don't worry this will be fun!I think the first thing you need to do is talk to your family about it or something, this is happening for the first time!" She shook her head quickly and thought about it.

"No...I have an idea...I won't say it..."

What, why would she do that?

"Why would you?"

"We'll just go!"

"WHAT?" She stood up, flustered.

"Yes! We'll just get ready and go, if we tell anyone, it'll spread like a wildfire and we'll be besieged. But if we just go, we can travel the countries normally without any brain eaters!" Well, that makes sense, but we really need Menko.

"Yes, that's good, but we need Menko, I'm not going without her!" I'm very stubborn about that, I'm not letting her go!

"Okay... How are we going to do this? We can't wait two days for Grandma, so what do we do?" That's way too much thinking.... How are we gonna tell Apona that we need Menko faster?

"I don't know now. But we can get ready!" I moved to the large chests of drawers and cupboards and looked at Amari.

"What's all in there, is it important for the trip?" Amari nodded and opened the cupboard. "Yes, my bow and arrows! They're very important!" She rummaged around in the cupboard and threw arrows, notebooks, a quill and jars of ink on the floor; she carefully laid down her bow, which was carved from a dark brown wood.

It was curved at the end and had a tight string stretched across its middle. Small decorations were left in the old wood and looked really fancy.

"Okay... We can get supplies from the kitchen!" She looked joyful, almost happy. Perhaps she had already resigned herself to the idea that she would have to fight Arkomak. After all, anyone who plans a journey so cheerfully wants to achieve something!
