Chapter 17

Four hours had passed since Angelic drifted off to sleep, but nature called and she had to get up.  As she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes she saw a figure on the lounger.  She had been so tired it slipped her mind that Trey was in the room.  It was almost like she had dreamed it all.  But there he lay; he had given a genuine apology and put her to bed.

The last thing she remembered before she drifted off to sleep was the sound of Trey’s voice as he told her he loved her.  Those words were like a lullaby and she instantly dozed off.  But now that she was conscious again her heart ached to have him near her.  She had almost forgotten that she had to pee until the urge kicked in again.

Angelic jumped up and went to the bathroom, what a relief it was to empty her bladder.  She went to wipe herself and something forced her to check the toilet paper.  There was blood, a light stain of blood.  Panic struck in and she yelled for Trey.

“Trey, Trey…TREY!!!”

The sound of her voice scared him out of his sleep, he half near fell off the lounger.  “Angelic, are you in the bathroom, what’s wrong?”

“Come here quick I need you!” she shrieked out.

The emotion in her voice wasn’t right and he quickly jumped up and ran in the bathroom, “Baby what’s wrong?”

She showed him the toilet paper, she had not moved –she was frozen with fear.  “Trey, I’m bleeding, I’M BLEEDING.”

He instantly kicked into doctor mode and said to Angelic, “Baby, you have to calm down, can you do that?”  Before she could even respond he turned toward the closet to get her a panty liner.

“Here, for the time being put this on,” he said as he handed it to her.  Angelic took it but it was like she was in a trance.  “Ange, c’mon baby stay focused put this on and let me take you back to bed.”

Angelic stood up and did as instructed; he could see the fear in her eyes as she stared back at him.  He picked her up into his arms and carried her back to bed.  Trey knew that she kept the doctor’s number by the phone in case of emergency.  He picked up the card and dialed.

“Good evening, this is the answering service what is your emergency?” was the reply on the other end of the line.

“Yes, I’m calling for my wife Angelic Moretti, she's seven weeks along and noticed some light bleeding when she was in the bathroom.”

“Sir, what doctor does she see?”

“Dr. Nicholas.”

“Ok sir, Dr. Nicholas is on call tonight.  I’ll page her right away and have her call you.  Please stay right by the phone.”

“Thank you,” he hung up.

“Ange, they’re paging Dr. Nicholas, it’s going to be alright.  Stay focused on me baby,” he reached over and grabbed her hand.

Angelic took his hand and embraced it tightly and whispered, “I’m scared.”

He was about to say something comforting when the phone rang, “Hello, Dr. Nicholas?”

“Yes, this is Dr. Nicholas, I received the message that Angelic was spotting.  Is this Trey?”

“Yes, I’m sorry.  I had called; Angelic is a little freaked out right now, should I bring her to the hospital?”

“Trey this is what I want you to do, you need to keep her calm and have her lay down.”

“Ok, she’s already doing that.”
