The paramedics attended to Angelic as the ambulance sped along to the nearest hospital. It had taken the firemen about 15 minutes to cut her loose of the wreckage. Although she had worn a seat belt the collision caused her to hit her head pretty bad. There was a gash on the side of her temple and blood flowed down. Trey wanted to do anything to comfort her, it didn't even matter that she was unconscious.

When they finally arrived at the hospital she came to and was in intense pain. The nurses and doctors were in attendance as soon as she was brought inside. Right away they started to hook her up to various machines scattered in the triage room.

One nurse verified that she was indeed in labor and the other confirmed that the baby's heartbeat was stable. Trey was a nervous wreck and he stood off to the side and watched as they tended to her needs.

Angelic was in intense pain and as she was being poked and pushed on she whimpered and groaned. The hospital staff went through a lot of check points as they examined her carefully. She had asked for something for the pain but the doctor explained that it was not a good idea being that she had a concussion and they needed her fully alert so that they could monitor both her and baby appropriately.

She was 37 weeks along and it would have been ideal for her to deliver had it not been for the accident. This was a terrible nightmare how could things have gotten to this point when they were just at a place of reconnection.

He dreaded the call but he had to let Angel know what had happened. It was direct and to the point...he explained there had been a serious accident and they were at the hospital. Nothing more needed to be said for after that Angel was instantly out the door and on her way.

When they first arrived at the hospital the doctor checked Angelic and she was four centimeters dilated. However three hours had passed and her contractions increased speedily, she was now up to seven. She was almost inconsolable as Trey tried his best to reassure and aid her through the pain. Concussion or not she knew what had transpired and led up to the accident.

Her aunt, to her surprise, stood in the background and let Trey be sole comforter. Every now and then she would say something to comfort her or stroke Angelic's hair like she did when she was a little girl. She knew her aunt didn't want to cause any tension now. She also knew that if she got Trey alone there would be hell to pay. Angel was upset with him but at the same time she knew that her niece needed his support.

Angelic's head throbbed. They had sewed up the gash and bandaged it. She was so upset with herself for it was her fault that her child may now be in jeopardy due to her stupidity. She felt nauseated and tender all over. A sever cramped, pain radiated in her abdomen and she cried out. Her OB doctor had been paged and walked in just in time to witness her discomfort. Dr. Nicholas immediately went to do an examination.

"Ok Angelic listen to me, I'm going to do an ultrasound on you. Your blood pressure has spiked and you're bleeding. I need to see what's going on in your stomach," Dr. Nicholas explained. "I know you're in a lot of pain and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that both you and baby are fine.

Angelic was in much pain and didn't pick up on the significance of what was just said, but Trey did. The doctor said "try" which meant things were worse than he thought. He was in panic mode but he bravely tried not to show it for Angelic's sake.
