Just as she had thought, Angel was not thrilled with the idea of her planned day with Trey. But to Angelic’s dismay, her aunt didn’t dwell on the scheduled reunion. She instead waited until the appointed time of arrival and followed her niece outside.
Needless to say she had Angelic seat herself in the backseat as she climbed into the front and gave him a fifteen minute ear beating. She also made it obviously clear that he was not to upset her or all hell would break out.
Angelic could have given him a heads up but chose not intervene. Her role had always been referee between the two. However, in this instance she thought he needed to hear a few choice words.
Angel was never one to bite her tongue and she told it the way she saw it. So basically you either loved her or hated her, either way it never stopped her from verbalizing what she felt. Towards the end of the reprimand Angelic kind of felt sympathetic for him because her aunt’s fury when released was harsh and cold.
When her aunt left the car and they were finally on their way, Angelic noticed how tight Trey’s hands were around the staring wheel. She smiled to herself for her aunt had really frazzled his nerves and he was in recoup mode.
By the time they arrived at the restaurant he seemed to be more relaxed. Separation between him and Angel was the prescribed medicine after a confrontation. He parked and walked around to help her up.
She loved the Italian bistro and he knew it was her favorite so he scored big brownie points. The place overflowed with patrons; to her surprise, Trey called ahead and reserved them a table. They were immediately escorted through a small crowd that had not phoned and waited for a free seat to become available.
Settled in their chairs, he took the initiative and started the conversation. “Ange, I want you back home with me. The house isn’t the same without you.”
“Trey we’re just here to talk, I never said anything about moving back.”
“I know but too much time has already been wasted to beat around the bush babe. I love and miss terribly. Will you consider coming back home?”
She stared into his gaze and melted her inner core for she could see the anguish of their separation in his eyes. “I don’t want to move too fast here,” she said and paused to carefully think out her next words. “I love you Trey and yes our separation has been extremely difficult. Can’t we just enjoy this moment for now and take everything else day by day?”
He reached across the table and offered his hand to her. She willingly accepted it and inter-locked her fingers into his in a tight grip. “I’m here because I love you and I’m willing to try…, no let me rectify that, I want to be better than we were before. Even before all this craziness we still dealt with a lot of issue and I’m not trying to do that again.”
“You’re right I don’t disagree. Babe, if that’s what you want then I’ll do it. I’d do anything for you, I hope you realize that,” he lovingly expressed as he slid his finger down her gorgeous face. She smiled and took pleasure in the affection he bestowed upon her.
The waitress arrived with their order and they reluctantly had to detach from one another. The tenseness when they first arrived was now gone. The ambiance was now comfortable and they ate and chatted throughout their meal.
On the drive back it was Angelic who suggested they make a stop at their house. It was close and the timing was perfect for Trey informed her he was free for the afternoon. She rationalized that it would give them more time to talk in private, without interruption.
The first footstep inside the house was huge. She didn’t realize how much she missed the place until she started to look around. Trey watched as she went from room to room and it was the nursery that stopped her in her tracks. The moment she stepped into the area her eyes filled with a puddle of wetness.
Trey had been busy while she was away. The walls that were once empty were now embroidered with moons, stars and teddy bears. Along the other wall where the crib was placed were hand painted words, “Sweet Dreams” and “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” but instead of spelling out star it displayed a picture of one. The specially designed canvas was centered around wooden letters that displayed the baby’s name “Trey Moretti, Jr.”
They had not even discussed baby names but it was a given from day one that if they were ever blessed with a son he would indeed be a junior. The scenery was breathtaking and far more than what she could have imagined. All the heartfelt love that went into the creation completely blew her away.
Wordlessly he had stood there behind her the entire time as she observed the scenery. So unbeknown to her, when she turned around there he was with a gigantic smile concealed upon his precious adorable mouth. Her arms reached up around his neck and she pulled him in close and overwhelmed him with sultry kiss. Their lip embrace was secure and intoxicating and had it not been for an impromptu sharp twinge she would not have pulled loose.
