Chapter 31
The room was bright when Trey opened his eyes. He stretched and rolled over to hug his wife but she wasn't there. She had to be hungry so he figured she went downstairs to get some breakfast. He could smell the aroma of cooked food coming up from the kitchen. He threw on his pant and ventured downstairs. As he entered the kitchen he saw his dad who sat at the table and drunk coffee.
“Hey son, good morning.”
“Morning dad, morning mom, where's Ange?”
Terry walked over to Trey and handed him an envelope. “Here baby, this was taped to the frig this morning when I came down. It's for you.”
Trey's heart sank as he took the envelope from his mother. How could he have not seen this? Of course she wouldn't want to make love to him after everything he told her. He felt so stupid that he believed it would be that easy. He sat down, placed it on the table and stared at it.
“Trey sweetheart, it's not going read itself sitting there like that.”
He shook his head in disbelief. “Mom, she left me, I told her the truth and she left me.”
“I don't know what truth it is that you're talking about, but if that's what happened, then you need to deal with it. Read the letter son.”
He picked it up and tore it open, it read, “Trey, I don't regret my last night spent with you. I will hold on to it and cherish it forever. I will think of it when I express to our child just how much I loved you and how much you love him. I want you to be the best dad ever to him but us together is no longer an option. I'm going back to the house and packing up my things. I will be moving in with Aunt Angel. I'm asking you, no I'm begging you to please just let things be.
I can't deal with all that you have done and I won't jeopardize my pregnancy because of your poor judgment. For the remainder of my pregnancy I'm asking you to just stay away from me. I will keep you advised of the status of all of my appointments and when it's time for the baby to be born I promise to contact you so that you can be there.
But other than that we just don't have a marriage. I'm going be direct and honest with you, once the baby is born I will be filing for divorce, please don't contest it. For the sake of our child I hope we will be able to be amicable throughout it all. Don't call me, don't come over. I need to be as far away as possible from you right now. I may sound strong but this is actually killing me inside. When I'm ready to talk I will contact you. You've been so good at honoring other peoples wishes, I'm asking you now to honor mine. Angelic.
Trey dropped the letter on the table, got up and walked out the room.
Chapter 32
The sun started to rise as Angelic and Angel walked through the front door of Angels house.
Angelic had phoned Angel from the airport. She briefly explained what happened and asked Angel to pack up as much of her belongings as possible. Angelic was tired and heart-broken and all she wanted to do was take a quick shower and lay down. Angel packed three suitcases which were filled with clothes, shoes, and toiletries. Anything else her niece might need she would pick up later.
