"Welcome, Mr. Lu and Ms. Lu," the secretary at the front desk said as we approached. "I'll lead you to the meeting room." We followed the formal, short woman down the hall to the left only to enter a door immediately on the right.

"He will be here shortly," she said before bowing slightly and leaving the room. Cheng and I sat down on the couch. I examined the room. There was a screen on the far wall most likely used for planning strategies for future games. The couch we were seated on was to the right of the door, and there was a low table right in front of us. To the left of the door was a bookshelf filled with trophies and figurines and another couch. The walls were a light blue with the TaT logo painted on the left wall.

The door opened to reveal a taller man that did not have a nice look to him. He looked almost downright evil, but, as you know, never judge a book by its cover. He took a seat on the other couch and stared at us for a long, almost unbearable moment before speaking.

"Hello, Mr. Lu and Ms. Lu. I hope my secretary wasn't too cold to you." He said with a smirk on his face. I don' know if I want Cheng to be alone with this guy. I am now considering staying here with him. I think I will. I don't trust him a bit.

"Hello." Cheng said shortly, nodding his head slightly. He never was one for socializing. I nodded my head at the man before me. Let's try to survive this interview.

"Well, what is your position and best Shikigami?" Cruel Guy asked. (A/n: I forgot his name so I am going to be calling him Cruel Guy. I am terrible at remembering names. 😑👍)

"I play AD and my best Shikigami is..." I stopped paying attention for a while. I knew all of this already. I had to live with this kid for sanity's sake. I have played for just as long as my brothers, but I had to take over the company so I couldn't do it professionally. I might play as a substitute later on since that will only be once in a while, but for right now, I have too much to do. I opened my phone after receiving a text from my manager.

Mr. Ching: Hey, there's some more paperwork for you to do when you are free. I know you are in a meeting right now, so I will send the documents via email.

Ms. Lu: Thanks. Add it to the never ending pile. 😑🥲

Mr. Ching: I sympathize with you, Miss. 🥲

Ms. Lu: 😂 We get no sleep.

Mr. Ching: No, no we do not, Miss. 😂 I'll leave you alone now.

I returned my attention to what was going on in the meeting.

"Well, you're hired! Welcome to the team, Chessman," Cruel Guy said, smirking and extending his hand for a hand shake. "Coach will give you our code of conduct and schedule. I hope you are up to the challenge."

Cheng shook his hand warily. "I'm up to it."

A few minutes later we were heading back out to the car after receiving the needed documents from Cheng's new coach.

"Be careful here. I'm going to be staying here until you decide to go back to China. I do not trust him in the least so there is no way that I am leaving you here alone with him," I said, turning my gaze over to him over the roof of the sports car. He looked at me.

"I would've been able to handle myself," he said, calmly. He strapped himself into the driver's seat.

"I know, but I would feel better if I were here. I will have to leave every now and then to visit Yue and for work, but I will be setting up my base camp around here. Stop by whenever you can okay?" I said, smiling slightly. He nodded quietly, pulling out of he parking spot.
