I woke up, needing to use the bathroom and get some water. I did what I needed, but then couldn't fall back asleep. I was wide awake. I had only slept three hours!! Lucky me and my insomnia. I decided to be at least productive. I did my giant pile of laundry, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, dusted, swept the floors, organized my increasingly messy spice cabinet, organized my room, and put my now dry laundry away.

It was now two hours since I woke up and I'm still wide awake so I decided to make some tea and either watch my favorite show or play games. I decided to watch my favorite show, (f/s).

My phone started ringing a few minutes later with the what seemed like the volume of a train going by in the silence of my living room. I checked who was calling me. 'Mr. Ching'.

Huh. I wonder what's up this late at night? I answered, "Hello?"

"Ah! Ms. Lu! Just wanted to inform you that there was a minor complication with the new project, so there will be a bit of paperwork for you tomorrow. I fixed what I could, but the rest will have to have your direct attention. Sorry for the complications, something didn't get communicated right so everything went off track. We've got it mostly under control now and are on our way to fixing it."

"Got it. Thanks for letting me know. What exactly happened?"

Mr. Ching spent the next few minutes explaining that someone had forgot what the budget amount was so they asked another, but that guy gave him the wrong amount so the wrong amount was entered into the files. Thankfully, one of the higher ups found the blunder before it could become a giant problem later on down the road. It is still early enough that things like this can get fixed easily.

"Thanks, Mr. Ching, for letting me know. I'll get the rest sorted out tomorrow," I said, contemplating, again, why I had decided that taking over the company from my mother was a good idea.

"You're welcome, Miss. Again, I'm sorry for the complications. I hope the rest of your evening is good. Also, get some sleep! You shouldn't be up at this hour!"

"Neither should you, technically. You also get some sleep. Goodnight Mr. Ching!"

"Goodnight, Miss!"

I hung up, contemplating life decisions. Well! Time for bed!

The rest of the week was a mix of insomnia, mountains of paperwork, meetings, tons of tea and coffee for when I couldn't fall asleep due to needing to work, more meetings and paperwork, chatting with Mr. Ching, talking to my brothers and Yao Tong, and playing games. I had slept very little in the past week. Insomnia is a pain in the but, let me tell you. Anyway! Work needs to be done.

It is finally Friday, which means I have many meetings and a lot of paperwork to do before I can get off work for the weekend. Yes, I need to get extra work done in preparation for my absence over the weekend. Apparently, without me this company would fall to the ground. Note the sarcasm.

I pull myself out of bed, heading for the shower and some breakfast. After the shower I had eggs and toast with sausage links for breakfast before brushing my teeth, finishing my morning routine, and heading for another long day at work.

After arriving at work, I headed straight to my office and got to work on the giant amount of paperwork and emails.

At 10:00 am, I had a meeting with the board members about the budget for the next month and the projects currently going. I gave my report on my project which was, thankfully, running smoothly with minor complications here and there. So far so good.

At 12:00 pm, we had lunch break, which felt like bliss due to the amount of work I had to do. For lunch I had some take out and sat in my office listening to a book while I tried to relax. Unfortunately, lunch break came to an end all too quickly.

At 2:30 pm, I had a meeting with one of the possible companies that could help with the commercial. It went fairly well, but I don't think I will choose them for this project.

Around 4:45 pm, I was called to my mother's office to talk about the planning of the Anniversary Party. I had thankfully done a little planning during one of my insomnia nights. I can't tell if the meeting went well or not due to my nerves.

I had my final meeting of the day at 6:30 with the head of my project. We had to make sure different complications were removed or smoothed out. We also had to discuss when we wanted to launch the project and how. After we came up with some ideas for that we discussed the budget and other things. That meeting went fairly well.

I worked until about 10:00 pm. on paperwork, planning meetings, planning the party, and making some phone calls to different companies to buy necessary materials for my project and to place orders for necessary components for the Anniversary Party.

After finally finishing the last part of my work I shut down my computer, clocked out, and headed home to immediately conk out on my bed.

A couple hours later I woke up hungry and realized that I was still in my work clothes. I ate supper, got ready for bed, and went back to sleep, not waking until the late morning on Saturday.
