AEGLECREST DI MARCO HIGH
I was leaning against Dior's chest, his head resting above mine as we both observed the ongoing social distance drama between Rhead and Sarah.
"What I've had to put up with," Dior muttered, irritated. "Why couldn't I have gone blind before seeing all this?"
I couldn't help but scoff. "What are those two even fighting about?" I remarked. They typically had their daily disagreements but usually made up quickly. This, however, looked seriously intense.
Just then, Miss Kincaid entered the classroom and announced, "Students, the bus for the picnic will arrive in 10 minutes, so please get ready." She proceeded to deliver the same message to the students in the B section as well.
I pushed myself away from resting on Dior's chest and turned to him, saying, "I am going to return the book,"
He stretched his arms and nodded.
I pulled the book out of my bag and began my journey to the library. The book reminded me of the first time Kaylo and I had met, how we struck up a conversation in the library, and how he had recommended this book to help me with my math troubles.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, and I proceeded to the library. After filling out the registration form, I began my quest to locate the book on the shelves. As I navigated the aisles, I spotted Kaylo sitting in his usual spot near the window, engrossed in his book.
He seemed oblivious to my presence, so I couldn't resist a playful attempt to startle him. I quietly approached him and then exclaimed,
"Boo!"
Kaylo casually looked up at me, and I felt a bit dumb.
Which I believe I am.
I found myself questioning why I'd tried to scare the son of a mafia boss.
"You're afraid of nothing," I grumbled as I settled down beside him.
Kaylo simply stated, "You're not scary."
I frowned but eventually nodded, conceding the point.
"What brings you here?" He asked, his gaze fixed on me.
"I came to return the book you recommended to me," I replied with a smile.
He peered at me as if trying to recall the memory. "The math guide," he mumbled.
"Yes, that's the one," I sighed wearily. "I'm so tired of seeing x and y together," I admitted, reminiscing about the countless nights I'd spent practicing algebra questions from that book.
"What else do you expect to see together?" he asked with a slight sigh.
"U (you) and I," I replied, my words causing his face to instantly flush crimson, and his dark orbs widened slightly.
