Theodore's POV.
I wake up saturday morning, Valentine's day morning to be exact, to the doorbell ringing and get out of bed knowing Charlie won't do it because she's wallowing in self pity until she can call Aaron. I grab Anthony's sweatshirt and head to the door. Swinging the door open I see Aaron.
"She's going to be so happy to see you, she's in her room," I state not being able to stop myself from smiling.
"Thank you," he says patting my shoulder, "And Happy Valentine's day."
"Yeah, I'm getting out of the house, so I will see you tomorrow," I reply heading back to my bedroom and texting Ant to pick me up. He responds by saying he was already on his way and I spoiled his surprise.
I get ready and when I walk past I hear Charlie happy sob.
"Aaron you're home! I missed you!" Charlie exclaims probably crying.
I don't wait to hear Aaron's response and instead decide to walk faster and wait in the living room. I watch Anthony's car pull up and I decide to let him 'surprise' me. He knocks on the door and I open it to reveal him in a nice button down and nice pants.
"Hey Teddy Bear, go get nice clothes on," He says once he takes a look at me.
"I'll get nice pants but I'm keeping your hoodie on," I deadpan letting him in the house.
"How thoughtful," he chuckles taking a seat on the couch.
I walk past Charlie's room plugging my ears, and then I grab my nice pants and pull them. I spray myself with one spritz of cologne and then I head back to my boyfriend. Once he sees me we head out to his car.
"Happy Valentine's day Teddy Bear," he says once we're outside, finally kissing me.
"Happy Valentine's day Ant," I say pulling his lips back on mine.
When we finally part we get in his car. He leans to the backseat and grabs a bouquet of flowers, then he proceeds to place them in my hands and peck my cheek.
"You goofball," I respond my cheeks warm.
"Yeah I know," he replies.
Instead of taking me to his house he takes me to a restaraunt out of town. Saying he wants to be able to kiss me and not be judged by people that know us, and I feel the same.
"You're going to love this place, my dad took me here once when I was a little younger," Anthony tells me, "It is a little bit of a drive but we'll be fine."
"Okay," I reply, happy that he's putting this much effort into this, putting me to complete shame.
When we finally get there I realize, I used to work here, before I moved. Deciding not to tell Ant about my past here, I grab his hand and peck his cheek.
"Thank you for being the best boyfriend ever, I love you," I tell him, watching his ears turn red.
"I love you too Teddy Bear, lets go get our seat," he replies giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.
We head inside and I note that Genevieve is the hostess and thus she'll be seating us. At least it's someone that supported me. I give her a small wave when she notices me.
"Hello! Table for two?" she asks, keeping her excitement down.
"Yes please," Anthony says.
"Alright two for Theo, that might be a fifteen minute wait, I'll go check, feel free to take a seat," she says, without realizing and walking away.
"How'd she know that you use Theo, or even your name?" Ant asks me confused.
"Oh I um, I used to work here as a bus boy, that was Genevieve she's super nice," I respond rubbing my thumb on the back of his hand.
"Oh, will you be okay eating here? I don't want you to be uncomfortable at our Valentine's date," Anthony says, his concern making me swoon.
"No no, Ant this is amazingly thoughtful of you, I promise I'm one hundred percent sure I want to eat here," I assure him, leaning over to kiss his cheek.
"Okay, just tell me if you get uncomfortable and we can leave," he states before kissing my lips.
"Table for Theo?" I hear Genevieve call, making Ant and I pull away.
We walk over to her, hand in hand, unlike anything we can do at home. Its liberating. We get seated and I note we're in Mackenzie's section, my old best friend. Great I hope she doesn't say anything to us. I decide not to focus on the possibility and instead focus my attention on making goo goo eyes at my boyfriend.
"Hi I'm Mackenzie, I'll be your- T?" she greets before she interrupts herself.
"Hi Mackenzie, what do you have for pop?" Anthony asks.
"W-we have Coke products," She stammers in response.
"I would like a regular coke then, Teddy what do you want?" he responds.
"I would like u-uhm a sprite," I stutter surprised Mackenzie recognized me.
"Sure, I will have those right out for you," She says writing down our drinks and walking away.
"So she seemed more shocked than a co-worker," Anthony states, insinuating there's more to my and Mackenzie's interaction.
"She used to be my b-best friend," I reply.
"Oh, well, Happy Valentine's day baby, I love you," Anthony says making me feel a lot better.
"I love you too, sorry I couldn't get you anything, you went literally above and beyond."
"Oh don't worry about that baby, you can give me something else after our date, something you can't buy," he winks at me, and before I can retort Mackenzie has returned with our drinks.
"A coke and a sprite for you, uhm can I talk to you for a second," she asks turning her attention to me.
"Yeah but please make it quick," I answer.
"How have you been?" she asks.
"I've been fine, you?"
"Been better, I've missed you, your sarcasm and all that," she tells me.
"Please don't take this the wrong way, but I cannot say the same. I've been living my life the way I, sort of, should have been all along and I don't need a friend that spreads rumors behind my back, and I would appriciate it if my boyfriend and I can order," I state, trying not to be rude, but to a definite point.
"Right, I'm sorry, uhm can I take your orders?" she asks returning to her professionalism.
We spend the rest of the date without incident and afterwards we head to his house. I text Charlie to let her know I'll be spending the night at Anthony's house.
(SISTER SKIP).
When we get there Ant tells me his parents are visiting home, and his siblings are at a friend's house because of how busy Ant is. I rush to his room and hear his laugh booming as I do so, letting me know he's onto my plans. Shutting the door behind me, I strip everything but his hoodie off and take a seat on his bed, waiting for him.-
In the morning I wake up with Ant laying on me and I realize; we're still not clothed. The thought entirely sets in and I feel a blush work its way from my ears to my neck. After attempting to get up, deciding it's not worth the struggle, I snuggle up to him trying not to focus on our nudity. Eventually falling asleep once more.
