Theodore's POV.

"Teddy Grahams wake up you're going to be late!" A feminine voice shouts from presumably the kitchen, effectively waking me from my tempting trap.

I groan and sit up, popping my back and taking a look around my new room. It looks so bare in here, I hate it. I think to myself as I swing my legs over the edge of my new bed. I grab a sweatshirt from my suitcase and pull it on over my head and walk to the kitchen. I see my older sister Charlotte in her scrubs preparing me and her some breakfast. I take a seat at the freshly cleared off counter. I offer a smile at Charlie before pulling out my phone and pressing the cracked screen to take me to Instagram.

"I know it's a new school, but it's going to be so much better because no one knows what happened at your last school," Charlie says trying to ease my nerves a little bit. I offer her a smile.

"Yeah I know, it's uhm it's going to be better, and I'll have new chances to meet people, i-if I want," I respond trying to make Charlie feel better about the situation.

"Alright breakfast is served," Charlie announces placing a plate in front of me, I smile and thank her before I start eating the bacon and eggs.

We eat in silence before I have to start getting ready for my first day of school. I put my plate in the sink and start to walk away before I remind myself, this is your house too now Theodore, act like it. I head back and wash my plate and fork and then set it in the drying wrack.

I head back to my room and start rifling through my suitcase for an okay outfit. After spending ten minutes I settle on a pair of black ripped jeans and a long sleeved graphic tee. I pull on some socks and run my fingers through my hair before I head to the door, grab my sneakers pull them on, and then I head out to the car to wait for Charlie.

After like three minutes Charlie bursts out of the house her brown hair in a messy bun, she's in her scrubs and she locks the door before rushing over to the car. I smile at her as I open the door and slide in. Charlie throws her bag in the backseat before buckling and starting the car.

"You have everything?" Charlie asks once we leave.

"Yeah, I have my folders and pencils, and then I have some money for lunch," I respond picking at my nailbeds.

"Don't do that it's bad for your fingers," Charlie scolds swatting my hands. I give her a look.

"Charlie I don't care, I'm kind of nervous so let me distract myself," I say.

"Teddy Grahams you don't have to be nervous, you're going to do great," Charlie assures me.

"I know I will, I just can't help it, everyone will have been friends with each other for years and I'll just be the freaky new kid who started a new school senior year, and no one knows why," I rant.

"Well its better than you being surrounded by homophobes who know you're gay while also dealing with Brenda who beat the shit out of you for being gay," Charlie says, laying out the cold hard truth, "You are Theodore Martin fucking Heart and you are going to kick ass today at school, start your senior year off with a bigger bang than 'I'm the new freaky kid that's a senior', you are so, so much more than that," Charlie praises making me smile hard.

I try to hid my smile a little bit before I respond, "Thank you Charlie, I love you, and I will definitely keep all that in my mind today," I respond once my smile has gone down a little.

"I love you too Teddy Grahams, I'll be here around 3:30 to pick you up, I love you have a good first day," Charlie says pulling into the school and pulling up to the drop off zone.

"Thanks Charlie, love you too, I'll see you around 3:30," I say grabbing my backpack and walking inside the school, trying to shake away my nerves.

I get through the main doors and I'm met with a main office door and I decide to go in that way, to make sure I know where the heck I'm actually going. I ring the doorbell thing they have and wait for the click of the door unlocking before I open the door. I walk up to the man at the front desk and I wait for him to say something because he's on the phone.

"Hello, sorry for that, what do you need?" He greets.

"Oh I'm uhm new here and I need a m-map and my s-schedule," I stutter, internally slapping myself. Where's the confidence you freak?

"Sure can I have your name?" He asks.

"Uhm Th-Theodore Heart," I mumble feeling myself shrink back into my shell.

"Alright Theodore I'll get you a map and your schedule, welcome to Coppersea high school," The man says offering me a smile, which I don't return.

He gets up and heads to where I assume is a printer, and I scower his desk looking for a nametag. I finally find one: Mr. Dellor. I'm grateful, I don't want to keep calling him "that guy in the office behind the desk" that's just rude. I exhale and roll my neck, feeling a pit in my stomach, what if someone knows? The thought makes me inhale sharply as I desperately try to push it away.

Mr. Dellor returns with papers stapled together and smiles at me before handing me the papers. I thank him and head out into the hallway. I look at the map and I'm immediately overwhelmed. I glance at my schedule trying to decide if it's really that bad, and I'm literally only in two areas the entire freaking school day. I take a deep breath before trying to find my first hour.

It took a lot longer than anticipated effectively making me about seven minutes late for class. I knock on the door not wanting to be a huge distraction, but the second I walk in everyone's heads snap towards the door, and as if on effing cue I blush and tell the teacher my name and rush to a seat.

After first hour I'm relieved to see that my next class, Science Fiction is in the classroom next door. I rush in and note that the teacher already has a seating chart, joy. I find my name and sit where I think my seat is. I twiddle with my fingers as I wait for the bell to signal the beginning of class. The teacher; Mrs. Grant introduces herself, and has us go around and say one fun fact about us along with our name, and then have to say what the person before us said, as a sort of "Ice breaker", I hate this one so I offer to go first.

"My name i-is Theodore, one fact about m-me is I-I don't have a d-dog but they're my favorite animal," I stutter, cursing myself but knowing I couldn't possibly have gotten through everyone's names.

Mrs. Grant has the person next me to me repeat what I said.
