Once upon a time, long, long ago... well, more like 20 years ago... Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest personal friends. Big cake. Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon, Beast united all of the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon. He rounded up all the villains and sidekicks... basically all the really interesting people... and he booted them off to the Isle of the Lost with a magical barrier to keep them there. This is my hood. No magic. No wi-fi. No way out. Or so I thought.

Persephone was different from her twin sister. She was different from even the other kids on the isle. Much different.

Mal- her twin- liked purple, Persephone liked black. Mal had a gang of friends, Persephone was a loner. Mal would do anything for their mothers approval, Persephone couldn't be made to give a damn.

Mal and her friends ran around causing mischief, and inconveniencing the run down people of the isle.

Persephone preferred to be holed up in her hideout, reading, and practicing on her makeshift drum set.

Mal was named after their mother, while Persephone had the misfortune of being named after their fathers old flame.

Despite all that, Persephone loved her twin, she even cared a bit for her sisters immature little gang. Today she was a bit annoyed by them.

Mals gang had run through the square, causing chaos as they sang about the wonders of being a villain.

As if they'd ever been more than mischievous imps.

The purple haired girl had dragged her blonde sister to dance with her, leaving them exposed when their mother came looking for them.

Persephone had successfully evaded Maleficent for almost two weeks now, fending for herself, and living out of her hideout.

Mal finished her song with a flourish, by snatching a lollipop from a nearby toddler.

Persephone scowled, candy was uncommon on the isle, the mother must've worked hard to get something sweet for her child.

Her scowl deepened when she saw their mother approach with a gaggle of muscle.

"Hi mom."

Mal greeted cheerily.

Maleficent tsked.

"Stealing candy, Mal? I'm so disappointed."

Persephone rolled her eyes, Mal sagged.

"It was from a baby."

Mal told their mother, batting her eyes hopefully.

Maleficent smirked.

"That's my nasty little girl."

She snatched the lollipop from Mal, spit on it, and rubbed it in her armpit before handing it off to a minion.

"Give it back to the dreadful creature."

"Mom..."

Mal whined.

Persephone tripped the muscle that held the lollipop, effectively making him eat dirt.

Who knows how many diseases her mother could pass off to that innocent baby.

"It's the deeds, Mal, that make the difference between mean and truly evil. When I was your age, I was cursing entire kingdoms. You two. Walk with me."

Persephone groaned as she and Mal followed their mother, a few feet from Mals waiting friends.
