When Persephone made her way back to her dorm that afternoon, she found Jane inside, whining to Mal and Evie.

"Mom said, "If a boy can't see the beauty within", then he's not worth it." Can you believe it? What world does she live in?"

Jane flopped back onto Evies bed, and Persephone shot her sister a questioning look. Mal shrugged in response, focusing on whatever she was sketching.

"Auradon."

Mal told Jane lowly, as her twin settled onto her own bed, pulling out a book she'd gotten from the library a few moments prior. Sheet music for dummies.

"Mal, do you like?"

Evie asked, showing the purple haired twin the dress she was in the midst of sewing.

"Yeah. It's cute. It brings out your eyes."

Evie sighed.

"I know."

Persephone didn't like the neckline, but she kept her mouth shut. No one ever cared much for her opinion, only Mals. So she stopped giving it, not out of shame, out of spite. They could all crash and burn.

"I'll never get a boyfriend."

Jane wailed. Persephone grimaced at the sheer pitch.

"Boyfriends are overrated."

Mal promised.

"Too right."

Persephone said, not bothering to look up from her book. She'd had a few trysts on the isle, none ended well.

"And how would you know, Mal? You've never had one."

Evie teased, making Mal fume.

"It's 'cause I don't need one, E. They're a waste of time."

Evie suddenly gasped, making Persephone jump in alarm.

"I forgot to do Chad's homework! Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no."

Persephone groaned.

"And that is exactly what I mean."

Evidently she'd left the door open (probably because of her shock at seeing Jane), which meant a tall girl with a horrendous bob didn't bother knocking before she moseyed into the VKs dorm.

"Hey, guys! I'm Lonnie."- there was a blank pause- "My mom's Mulan? No? Anyways, I love what you've done with Jane's hair. And I know you hate us, and, well, you're evil. But do you think you could do mine?"

Persephone blinked. She hadn't even noticed the difference in Janes hair. And she hadn't realized Mal had been so effortlessly performing the spells from their mothers grimoire. That gave her a strange feeling in her stomach.

"Why would I do that for you?"

Mal asked Lonnie incredulously.

"I'll pay you 50 dollars."

Lonnie held up a bag of Auradon coin, which Evie quickly swiped.

"Good answer. I need to buy more material. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights."

Lonnie didn't seem interested in Evies ideas. As always, only Mals opinion mattered.

"Yeah, yeah. I want it cool. Like Mal's."

Mal looked shocked.

"Really? The split ends, too?"

Mal made a sour face at Evie, and went for Maleficents grimoire.
